Cotton University (CU) has opened its final Undergraduate (UG) Spot Admission round. The round covers vacant seats for the 2026-27 academic session. The notice is live on the official admissions portal at admissions.cottonuniversity.ac.in. Eligible candidates can register online from July 27 to July 29, 2026.
The offline admission process will be held on July 30, 2026. Candidates must report at KBR Hall, Cotton University campus, Panbazar, Guwahati. Seats will be filled strictly in merit order after physical document verification.

Programmes Covered Under the Spot Round
UG admissions at Cotton University run under the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP). The spot round will fill seats left vacant after the earlier merit rounds. These seats span the Arts, Science and Commerce Honours streams.
The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) programme is also part of this round. The final department-wise vacancy list will be issued on the admissions portal before registration opens.
Who Is Eligible to Apply?
Applicants must have cleared their HS 10+2 examination from a recognised board. The general UG cut-off is a minimum of 50 percent aggregate marks. Only candidates meeting the programme-specific norms may apply.
The direct admission route is reserved for Assam domicile candidates. The cut-off is 60 percent for the General category. It is 55 percent for OBC and MOBC candidates. SC, ST and PWD applicants need 50 percent aggregate marks.
B.Sc Honours applicants need at least 50 percent marks in the PCM or PCB stream. BCA aspirants need 50 percent aggregate marks, with English as a compulsory subject at the HS 10+2 level.

- Visit the official portal at admissions.cottonuniversity.ac.in.
- Click on the UG Spot Admission 2026-27 link.
- Register with a valid email ID and mobile number.
- Fill in personal, academic and category details in the form.
- Upload the required documents in the prescribed format.
- Pay the application fee of Rs 350 online.
- Submit the form and download two printed copies.

- HS 10+2 mark sheet and pass certificate in original.
- Class 10 admit card as proof of date of birth.
- Caste or category certificate, if applicable.

What Happens on the Admission Day?
Reporting at KBR Hall on July 30 is mandatory for all shortlisted candidates. Names will be called out strictly in merit order. Candidates absent when their name is called will lose the seat.
The seat will then be offered to the next applicant in the queue. Selected candidates must pay the course fee online on the same day. Admission is confirmed only once the fee reflects in the system.

Cotton University usually conducts multiple spot rounds each admission cycle. The first spot round for 2026-27 was held on June 15, 2026. A second round followed in mid-June for the remaining major subjects.
The July 30 session is the third and final spot round of this cycle. No further UG admission rounds are expected for 2026-27 after this window closes.
This is the last chance to secure a UG seat at Cotton University this year. Candidates who miss the July 29 registration deadline will have to wait for the 2027-28 admission cycle.
