What Is the Open Counselling Round For?
Open counselling is meant for seats that remain vacant after the second merit list confirmations. These vacancies will be published on July 6, 2026. Candidates who did not secure a seat earlier can participate in this round on July 13 and 14, 2026. Allotment in open counselling is based on the merit position and the seats left in each programme.
The second merit list is often the final chance to lock a seat before open counselling. Vacancies in specialised streams like M.Tech AI and ML, LLM and MCA tend to close quickly at this stage.
