DDU Gorakhpur University has launched UP's first dual MBA with Lincoln University College Malaysia. Students spend year one in India and year two in Malaysia and earn MBA degrees from both institutions.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University (DDUGU) has launched Uttar Pradesh's first dual Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme in partnership with Lincoln University College (LUC), Malaysia. The announcement was made on July 2, 2026 after the university's Executive Council granted final approval to the proposal. Students admitted to the programme will earn MBA degrees from both institutions on successful completion.
DDUGU is the first state-run university in Uttar Pradesh to offer a dual MBA of this kind. Vice-Chancellor Professor Poonam Tandon has described the initiative as a significant step toward the internationalisation of higher education at the university.
Programme Structure
The dual MBA runs for two academic years. Students complete the first year at the Gorakhpur campus in India and the second year at Lincoln University College in Malaysia. Both institutions will award their respective MBA degrees at the end of the programme.

The programme is designed to give students international academic exposure and direct experience of global business practices. University officials expect the two-degree structure to widen employability in multinational companies for graduates from eastern Uttar Pradesh.
The MoU Behind the Programme
The dual MBA is the first academic offering to emerge from a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between DDUGU and LUC on March 2, 2026. Professor Dr Amiya Bhaumik, Founder and President of Lincoln University College, signed the agreement on behalf of the Malaysian institution.
The MoU covers dual-degree programmes, joint research, faculty exchange, and broader academic cooperation. It spans undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD levels, which means more India-Malaysia joint degrees may follow the MBA in the coming sessions.
How to Apply for the Dual MBA Programme?
The university has stated that the fee structure and the admission process for the dual MBA are still being finalised. Both are expected to be announced within one week of the July 2 launch. Candidates should therefore monitor the official DDUGU website closely.
Once notified, applicants will need to check the eligibility norms, the intake capacity, and the mode of selection. Admission details for the programme will be published on ddugu.ac.in. Passport processing and Malaysian student visa formalities will also become relevant before the second year begins.
Other New Programme at DDUGU
Alongside the dual MBA, the university has approved a Bachelor of Business Administration in Tourism and Hospitality Management (BBA-THM). The programme will run under the Commerce Department from the current academic session and expands the university's professional course basket.
No state-run university in Uttar Pradesh has previously offered a dual MBA delivered across India and a foreign campus. DDUGU is opening this route from a Tier-2 city, not a metro. That places students from eastern UP on the same international pathway that has, until now, largely been the domain of private universities in metropolitan hubs.
