Delhi University started its 2026-27 academic session on July 28, 2026. Classes for the first, third, fifth and seventh semesters have begun across all UG and PG programmes, with orientation events held to welcome fresh students.

DU 2026-27 Academic Session Begins on July 28 at du.ac.in

The University of Delhi (DU) has commenced the new academic session 2026-27 from July 28, 2026, as per the official academic calendar released on the university website at du.ac.in. Classes have started for the first, third, fifth and seventh semesters of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes across all affiliated colleges and departments.

North Campus and other DU colleges welcomed freshers with orientation and induction programmes. Miranda House conducted its induction programme, ‘Deeksharambh 2026’, from July 24 to July 28, 2026. Department-wise orientation sessions were also held in staggered slots at several colleges before the first regular class.

The academic year is divided into an odd semester from July to December 2026 and an even semester from January to May 2027. The schedule applies to regular UG and PG programmes and does not cover DU School of Open Learning (SOL) students, who follow a separate academic calendar.

DU 2026-27 Odd Semester Key Dates

The odd semester covers Semesters I, III, V and VII. Below is the official schedule for the first half of the academic year.

CSAS Admission Status for 2026-27

The Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for UG admissions opened on June 26, 2026, and remains active as classes begin. PG admissions are also ongoing through the university portal.

A mid-entry option is available for eligible PG candidates against a fee of Rs 1,000. Students can apply and track their seat allocation through the CSAS portal at admission.uod.ac.in.
