The Directorate of Higher Education Tripura has reopened the SAMARTH portal for Phase 2 UG admission 2026-27 in Government General Degree Colleges. Candidates can register from July 15 to July 20, 2026 at highereducation.tripura.gov.in.
Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Tripura has reopened SAMARTH portal at highereducation.tripura.gov.in. This is for Phase 2 undergraduate admission in the 2026-27 session. Eligible candidates can register till midnight of July 20, 2026. It covers first semester intake in Government General Degree Colleges (GDCs).
Students already admitted to any GDC in phase one cannot apply again. The second phase gives another chance to candidates who missed out earlier. Merit lists will be prepared by colleges based on applications received.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?
Students who missed a GDC seat in the first phase are eligible. Candidates who exercised only limited college options earlier may also apply now. Anyone already holding a confirmed GDC admission cannot register in this round.
How to Apply for DHE Tripura Phase 2 UG Admission 2026?
Candidates must submit their application only through the SAMARTH portal. No manual or offline admission forms are permitted this round. Follow the steps given below:
- Visit the official website at highereducation.tripura.gov.in.
- Click on the SAMARTH portal link for second phase admission.
- Register using a valid mobile number and email address.
- Fill in the personal, academic, and category details.
- Select a maximum of four colleges as per preference.
- Choose up to two major subjects and one minor per college.
- Upload the required documents and submit the form online.
What Happens After the Registration Window Closes?
Colleges will prepare merit lists using the applications received. The DHE will publish college-wise vacancy positions on August 3, 2026. Shortlisted candidates will attend physical admission with original testimonials. The second round will be held on August 5 and 6, 2026.
This is the last online window for GDC seats this session. Students who miss this round can only try the physical third round.
