Delhi University (DU) is likely to start the registration process for admissions on June 20, 2020. The varsity has now decided not to conduct any group discussions and interviews this year for PG admissions 2020-21.
Earlier, the group discussion and interviews were given the weightage of 15 percent in the graded total to the students seeking PG admission in the University of Delhi.
"The admissions to university’s PG courses like MBA, Mcom and MA were earlier conducted based on the Interview but for the current year 2020-21 taking view of the situation, the interview and GD has been scrapped," said Arun Kumar Atri, member of DU standing committee.
The decision has been taken keeping in mind the social distancing protocol to contain the coronavirus spread.
During the interviews and group discussions, it is difficult to follow social distancing norms. No matter how much the varsity tries it would not be able to regulate such interviews with the high number of applicants this year, said an official. Moreover, DU is trying to hold a contactless admission session in 2020-21.
This year Delhi University has brought out some major changes in the DU Admission Process 2020 due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis in the country.
No sports trial
Delhi University has this year decided not to conduct sports trials that are conducted every year for ECA (extracurricular activity) admissions.
The students will be given admission this year based on the certificate that will verify their achievement only.
Online process
The candidates will not have to report every time to the university campus this year.
Once the cut off list s released the candidates can apply online to various colleges this time.
The application process has also been turned online this time to meet the need of the hour.
