Delhi University has extended the Financial Support Scheme 2026-27 application deadline to October 23, 2026. Eligible UG and PG students can apply at dsw.du.ac.in for a fee waiver of up to 100 per cent based on family income.

DU Financial Support Scheme 2026-27 Deadline Extended to Oct 23

The University of Delhi (DU) has extended the Financial Support Scheme (FSS) 2026-27 application window. The Office of the Dean, Students' Welfare (DSW) issued the extension notice on October 12, 2026. Students can now apply online at dsw.du.ac.in till October 23, 2026.

The earlier last date to submit applications was October 13, 2026. The ten-day extension gives applicants extra time to upload documents and complete the form. The scheme offers up to a 100 per cent fee waiver to eligible undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The waiver covers every component of a student's fees. However, it excludes examination fees and hostel fees. The scheme is run by DSW to support economically weaker students across DU courses.

DU FSS 2026-27 Important Dates

Event Date
Online registration opened September 24, 2026
Original last date to apply October 13, 2026
Extension notice issued October 12, 2026
Revised last date to apply October 23, 2026

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

Any full-time bona fide student of DU can apply this year. The scheme is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Applicants must be enrolled in a DU department, institute, or centre.

Eligibility is linked to the applicant's annual family income. The scheme uses two income slabs for the fee waiver. The slab decides both the waiver percentage and the maximum amount granted.

Fee Waiver Slabs Under DU FSS 2026-27

Annual Family Income Waiver Percentage Maximum Amount
Rs 0 to Rs 4,00,000 100 per cent Rs 15,000
Rs 4,00,001 to Rs 8,00,000 50 per cent Rs 10,000

Which Documents Are Required?

Applicants must upload a few key documents while filling the form. The DSW office verifies income claims using these records.

  • EWS or OBC-NCL certificate issued by a competent authority.
  • Annual family income certificate for the year 2025-26.
  • Latest Income Tax Returns of father and mother, if filed.
  • Income Tax Returns of unmarried siblings below 25 years, if filed.
  • Self-attested copies of all supporting records.

How to Apply for DU FSS 2026-27?

The application process is fully online this cycle. Students must register first and then fill the main form.

  • Visit the official DSW portal at dsw.du.ac.in.
  • Click on the Financial Support Scheme 2026-27 application link.
  • Register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
  • Log in and complete all sections of the online form.
  • Upload the required income and category certificates.
  • Submit the application before October 23, 2026.
Why This Matters

The FSS targets DU's economically disadvantaged students across all faculties. It is one of the few university-level schemes offering a full tuition waiver. The extension reflects demand from students still arranging income documents.
