Galgotias University (GU) has opened PhD admissions for the 2026-27 Fall Session. The university has invited applications across more than 50 doctoral programmes. Candidates can register online at admissions.galgotiasuniversity.edu.in.

The last date to submit the application is July 10, 2026. The PhD Entrance Test (PET) will be conducted on July 22, 2026. Shortlisted candidates will then face a personal interview round.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

• A Master's degree with minimum 55 percent marks or Grade B equivalent on the UGC scale.
• A 4-year Bachelor's degree with research focus and CGPA above 7.5.
• A 1-year or 5-year integrated Master's with minimum 55 percent marks.

​​Candidates taking the 4-year Bachelor's route must also qualify GATE, UGC-NET, or CSIR-JRF. SC, ST, OBC, and differently-abled candidates receive a 0.5 CGPA relaxation. Their minimum CGPA stands at 7.0 on the same scale.

How Will the PhD Entrance Test Be Conducted?

The PET carries two equal sections of 50 percent weightage each. The first half tests research methodology. The second half covers the discipline-specific subject of the applicant.

The qualifying threshold for the PET is 50 percent. Candidates who clear this cut-off advance to the personal interview round. The interview is held before the departmental research committee.
