Hyderabad Schools Recommenced on September 21; Doubt Sessions Conducted

The Telangana government partially recommenced schools, outside containment zones, to reopen for high school students across the Hyderabad region from September 21. Only 50% of teachers are allowed to visit the school. Students have to carry written consent from their parents.

Both online and offline classes were made functional from Monday. Students can visit their respective educational institutes for doubt clearance.

Karuna Sri, Headmistress of Raj Bhawan Government School in Hyderabad, said "Starting from today, we are allowing high school students to attend school under the guidelines issued by the Telangana government, and the Central government. All the precautionary arrangements have been made at the school." 

The Partial Reopening of Schools

Adhering to Unlock 4.0 guidelines, the state government has stated that only 50% of teaching and non-teaching staff would be allowed to visit school premises to conduct doubt solving sessions. 

On other hand, Students need to follow all the necessary precautions. However, the state government decided not to allow the reopening of schools that fall under any major or minor containment zones as identified by the state health department.

Strength of Students Visiting the School Premises

The number of students turned up in schools on Monday was comparatively less. Also, many students were not allowed to enter school premises as they were from COVID-19 marked containment areas. Though the number of students visiting school tends to increase in the coming days.

Raj Bhawan Headmistress said, “Being the first day, less number of students turned up to the schools, but coming days we are expecting the student count might increase and we have taken all the precautionary steps required."

Parents who came with their children were quite satisfied with arrangements made by school administration for the safe conduct of classes.

Precautionary Steps Taken by the School Administration

The Telangana government has made proper arrangements for the safe conduct of schools during COVID-19. Schools have been sanitized properly. A reasonable amount of hand sanitizer and face masks have been arranged on the school campus. Social distancing will be strictly followed inside the campus.

But for more precautionary purposes, Students need to carry their hand sanitizers and wear face masks all the time inside the campus. Students from class 9 and above can report to schools voluntarily for solving their doubts aroused during online classes.
