IIIT Bhagalpur has announced M.Tech and PhD admission for the 2026 Autumn Session (July-December). The online application portal opened on April 17, 2026, with the final submission deadline set for June 15, 2026.
Candidates selected for written test/interview will receive intimation on June 19, 2026, with the examination scheduled for June 30, 2026 in offline mode.
Results will be announced on July 6, 2026, followed by fee submission and admission reporting deadline on July 17, 2026.
IIIT Bhagalpur offers M.Tech programs in three specializations with 15 seats each: Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (for B.Tech/M.Sc in CSE/IT/Data Science/AI), VLSI and Embedded System (for B.Tech/M.Sc in ECE/EEE/E&I or equivalent), and Electric Vehicle Technology (for B.Tech/M.Sc in ME/Mechatronics/EE/ECE/E&I/PI or equivalent).
PhD programs are available in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechatronics and Automation Engineering, and Mathematics. PhD candidates can apply under Full-Time Institute Fellowship (GATE qualification required), Self-Sponsored Full-Time, CSIR-UGC/NFSC/NFOBC JRF categories, or Part-Time options.

Candidates must fill the combined online application form available on the official portal and pay the non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1,180 through the SBI payment gateway (select "MISC" as payment category).
Required documents for upload include B.Tech/B.Sc/BS final marksheet and degree certificate, M.Tech/M.Sc/MS final marksheet and degree certificate (if applicable), 12th and 10th marksheets with passing certificates, migration/college leaving certificate from last attended institute, GATE/NET score card (if applicable), NoC from employer (for part-time applicants), SC/ST/EWS/OBC-NCL/PWD certificates (if applicable), CV/Resume, publication list (if any), and application fee payment receipt.
Payment must be made through the official SBI online payment gateway by selecting "MISC" as the payment category. Candidates must upload the payment receipt as part of their application documents.

The fee structure for M.Tech Full-Time (2-year) and Part-Time (3-year) programs is detailed below. Full-Time candidates complete the program in four semesters, while Part-Time candidates complete it in six semesters.

IIIT Bhagalpur PhD Fee Structure 2026
PhD programs follow a unified fee structure for both Full-Time and Part-Time candidates. The first semester includes one-time admission fee and caution money (refundable), while subsequent semesters have reduced fees.
The last semester includes convocation fees. Fees from the second semester onwards are tentative and subject to modification by competent authority. Hostel and mess charges are not included in the fee structure.
