IIM Jammu, one of the premier management institutions in India, has hosted its 6th annual convocation ceremony, a momentous occasion for the graduating batch. The education minister conferred degrees to 259 students of MBA and EMBA programs.
New Delhi: The annual convocation ceremony holds immense significance in the academic journey of the students, symbolizing the culmination of their hard work, dedication, and perseverance throughout their management education.
IIM Jammu’s 6th Annual Convocation was organised for the graduating sixth batch of MBA and the first batch of EMBA on June 16, 2023. The Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan addressed the Convocation Ceremony.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) (MoS I/c) for the Ministry of Science and Technology and Minister of State for Prime Minister's Office; Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions; Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space, Govt. of India, and Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J &K) were the Guest of Honour on the occasion.
Dr Milind P Kamble, Chairman, Board of Governors IIM Jammu has delivered the welcome address. Professor BS Sahay, Director, IIM Jamm, presented the Director's report by highlighting the achievements of the Institute.
On the occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were signed between IIM Jammu and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) A total of 232 students were conferred with MBA degrees and 27 students were conferred with an executive master of business administration degrees.
In total, 259 Students were conferred with degrees this year. These degrees represent the student's academic accomplishments, their mastery of management concepts and skills, and their readiness to take on leadership roles in the corporate world.
Addressing the sixth convocation Pradhan said, “It is a matter of great pride for all the graduating students that they have completed their education from a young and reputed institution which is a centre of excellence like IIM Jammu”.
“It is just the beginning of a new chapter of your life. Get ready for the challenges. Don’t stay in your comfort zone. You must not only look forward to becoming job creators but also aspire to become wealth creators and contribute to the economic development of our country”, said Pradhan.
He also said that under the leadership of our respected PM Narendra Modi, the education system and the future-oriented IT reforms were laying a powerful foundation for the bright future of the younger generation.
Lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha, said that India is now emerging as a new knowledge economy on the world horizon, and it is growing at an “exponential pace”. “Transformational work is driving the nation on the path to become a powerhouse in every field,” he added.
He also complimented the PM and said, “He believes that the younger generation must be empowered through NEP2020 along with a powerful ecosystem of Digital India so that with an exceptional combination of human capabilities and artificial intelligence, our youth will be able to achieve their aspirations and also make the country proud”.
The Union minister of J&K state Dr Jitendra Singh said that all the students presented here are privileged to be the graduates and postgraduates in the era, under the leadership of the Prime Minister. This year, IIM Jammu has recorded 100% placements for post-graduate MBA students.
The highest domestic CTC stood at INR 64 LPA, with the top 10 percentile at 32.4 LPA, the top quartile CTC stood at INR 24.5 LPA, and the average and median CTC stood at INR 16.43 LPA and 15.25 LPA respectively. The 6th convocation was a celebration of academic excellence, personal growth, and the bright futures that await the graduating students.
