IISER has opened counselling registration for IAT 2026 qualified candidates at iiseradmission.in. The window closes on July 9 at 5 PM. Seven IISERs participate including Bhopal, Pune, Mohali and Kolkata.
Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) have opened Counselling 2026 registration. The portal is live at iiseradmission.in. Registration began at 5 PM on July 2, 2026.
Only candidates who cleared the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026 can apply. Both registration and choice filling happen on the same portal. The entire process is fully online.
Seven IISER campuses are participating in this counselling round. Admissions cover the five-year BS-MS dual degree programme. The dates and campus list appear in the tables below.

Seat Acceptance Fee
Candidates allotted a seat must pay a seat acceptance fee. The amount depends on the applicant's category. Non-payment cancels the allotment automatically.

How to Register for IISER Counselling 2026?
Qualified candidates should follow the steps below to complete the process.

- Click on the counselling registration link on the homepage.
- Log in using the credentials created during IAT 2026.
- Fill in personal, academic, and category details as required.
- Enter institute and course preferences during the choice-filling stage.
- Review the preferences and lock them before the deadline.

What Happens After Seat Allotment?
Seats are allotted based on IAT rank, category, and preferences filled. After allotment, students receive two options for their seat. They can either freeze or float the allotted seat.
Freezing means the student accepts the seat without an upgrade. Floating means the student keeps the seat but awaits a better option. Missing the payment window forfeits the allotment.
IAT is the only route to the BS-MS programme at these seven IISERs. Missing the July 9 window shuts a candidate out for the year. There is no separate late registration window.
