IIT Kanpur is preparing to host "Sankalan," a national-level civil engineering conclave on its campus. This two-day event, organized by the Society of Civil Engineers (SoCE), a student-run society within the department.

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur is gearing up to host "Sankalan," a national-level civil engineering conclave on its campus. Organized by the Society of Civil Engineers (SoCE), a student-run society within the department, this two-day event is set to kick off on January 27, 2024.
The objective of IIT Kanpur's Sankalan’24 is to establish itself as a central hub for knowledge sharing, innovation, and collaboration within the field of civil engineering.
The conclave includes several competitions tackling real-life challenges, such as the spaghetti bridge design challenge, optimizing water resources for sustainable agriculture, remote satellite design challenge, and crack detection–image classification challenge using machine learning.
Participants are urged to compete and showcase their inventive solutions, with the chance to win prizes up to INR 1 lakh. This platform encourages individuals to actively engage in practical problem-solving and exhibit their creativity in addressing pressing issues across these varied challenges.
Events at IIT Kanpur's National Conclave
In addition to workshops, competitions, and lectures, Sankalan'24 will feature exhibitions, informal networking gatherings, and an opportunity to explore the IIT Kanpur campus. Explore the activities:
