Jadavpur University Admission 2020: Until recently any students from any discipline could study Masters in English, but with the latest updates coming students should have English honors as their eligibility in MA English.
According to the sources from the official website, the Jadavpur University admissions committee made few changes to the admission for Masters in English admission criteria, this year.
As per the changes, JU will not allow the students from other universities in its master’s programme without English honors as a UG degree.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, JU will not be able to conduct its admission test this year, as a result of which the JU education department has decided to screen aspirants based on their marks obtained in the undergraduate examination.
Hence, the students with English honors will only be allowed to apply for admissions in the Master’s programme available at the university.
The HOD of the English department in JU, Rimi B. Chatterjee said that the process followed this time is not rigid, but it is a temporary solution to the problem.
A teacher from the university said the graduation scores would be biased for admission based on the merit of an applicant. This is because of the way end-semester exams for the undergraduate students were held last month.
Also, the gatherings on campuses have been banned due to the pandemic COVID-19.
