The application window for the Jharkhand GNM application form for admission to the three-year General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) diploma course and the ANM application form for admission to the Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) course is now closed.

There are four recognized Nursing institutes accredited by JCECEB and the Indian Nursing Council and Jharkhand Nursing Council which offers 140 seats for the GNM course and 105 seats for the ANM course. The entrance examination is popularly known as the Nursing Entrance Competitive Examination- 2020 (NECE 2020).

Jharkhand GNM/ANM/NECE 2020 Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for taking the NECE 2020 are:

  • For Jharkhand GNM, the candidate should be between 17 and 35 years of age, as of 31 December 2020. There is no age bar for ANM.
  • The candidate who should have passed class 12 from any stream can apply for GNM and ANM. However, for GNM, preference will be given to candidates who studied Science.
  • The candidate should have scored at least 40 percent in aggregate. For SC and ST category candidates, there is a relaxation of five percent.
  • The candidate should be medically fit.
  • Only a limited number of candidates who qualify the entrance examination will be called for counselling.

Jharkhand GNM/ANM/NECE 2020 Admission Process

The admission process includes a number of steps, starting from filling out the application form to going for counselling to submitting the admission fee:

  • Registration: Candidates have to fill out the application form, mentioning their personal details, academic details, and attaching a recent passport size photograph and a scanned image of their signature. The application fee is 450 INR.
  • Downloading the admit card: The conducting body will issue the admit card seven or ten days before the entrance examination. Candidates have to download the admit card and keep a printout.
  • Taking the examination: Candidates have to take the entrance examination by reporting to the allotted centre on the given time and date. They will not be granted entry without producing the hard copy of the admit card first.
  • Result: The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board will release the answer key before announcing the Jharkhand GNM/ ANM/ NECE 2020 result. The result will be announced on the official website of JCECEB.
  • Counselling: Candidates have to attend counselling before a personal interview along with a medical check-up. After document verification, candidates will be allotted seats according to merit.
  • Fee submission and attending classes: After the seats are allotted, candidates have to submit the admission fee and tuition fee, before attending classes.
