The administration of JNU Delhi is planning to allow Ph.D. students to visit the college campus in a phased manner after Durga Puja.
The students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) have been requesting to open the campus for Ph.D. scholars and the University has finally responded to it.
The day scholars and Ph.D. scholars will be allowed to use the University's library and laboratories for research and practical works. But the hostels will not be opened anytime soon.

Promod Kumar, Registrar at JNU stated that to make proper arrangements to reopen the campus and to allow students to use the study room, a special team has been formed.
They have planned to allow the students in a phased manner. Students who have to submit their research thesis by December will be allowed first following all the COVID 19 precautionary guidelines.
The administration of the University has also asked the head of the laboratories to provide a list of how many students could use the lab at a time following all the social distancing norms.

A special ID card will be issued to the scholars to enter the university campus and all the safety arrangements such as temperature check, sanitization of bags, hands, and others will be provided at the entry gate.
To open labs and laboratories, the final notification will be issued on October 21, 2020. The university administration has decided to let 100 students enter the campus first.
Protests were held by the students union last week demanding the University to open the campus for academic purposes.
