Karnataka Government Introduces CLAP Modules, Project-Based Learning for State-Run Schools

Karnataka State Government has inaugurated the Project-based Learning and Customised Learning Achievement Path (CLAP) modules for the benefit of over 18 lakh primary class students in the state-run schools. 

S.Suresh Kumar, Karnataka Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, inaugurated the modules created by Samagra Sikshana Foundation via Cisco Webex. Around 18 lakh government school children from classes 4 to 7 in 34 Educational Districts will be provided with these learning modules to let ongoing learning at home.

Harish Krishnan, Cisco India, and SAARC Director, Public Affairs and Strategic Engagements stated that Cisco would work with the Education Department and Sikshana Foundation to give learning inputs to the students across Karnataka state during the COVID-19 Pandemic to keep the learning process undisturbed.

Apart from this, as per media reports, the Karnataka State Government Technical Advisory Committee has decided to shut the schools in the state till December 31, 2020, keeping in mind the outbreak of the Pandemic. 

The expert committee formed led by Dr. MK Sudarshan had informed that the rise in the cases in the other states has prompted for the postponement of the reopening of the schools.

The committee further added that the parents and students did not support the response for the reopening of the degree colleges in the state. 

Additionally, the committee has also advised a thorough review of the pandemic situation by the end of the year to make a decision on the subsequent reopening date for the school and colleges in the state.
