KEA has extended the KCET 2026 Round 1 choice entry deadline to July 28. Fee payment and admission at the allotted college remain open till July 29 on the official portal at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has extended the Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2026 Round 1 choice entry deadline on its official portal at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Candidates can now submit and lock their college and course preferences till July 28, 2026. The extension applies to engineering, agriculture, veterinary, pharmacy, and allied stream aspirants.
Fee payment for the allotted seat and reporting for admission at the concerned college will remain open till July 29, 2026. KEA had earlier issued a shorter window that closed on July 26. The revised timeline gives candidates two additional days to review their options and complete the process.
KCET is the state-level entrance test conducted by KEA for admission to professional undergraduate courses in Karnataka. The counselling process is fully online and moves through multiple rounds of seat allotment.
KCET 2026 Round 1 Revised Schedule
The official notification lists the following revised dates for Round 1 activities.
| Activity | Revised Deadline |
|---|---|
| Choice entry and locking of options | July 28, 2026 |
| Payment of fee for allotted seat | July 29, 2026 |
| Reporting and admission at allotted college | July 29, 2026 |
How to Complete KCET 2026 Choice Entry?
Candidates who have received a seat allotment must complete option entry through their KEA login. The steps are listed below.
- Visit the official portal at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.
- Click on the UGCET 2026 choice entry link on the homepage.
- Log in using the CET number and password.
- Add colleges and courses in order of preference.
- Verify the entries carefully before locking the choices.
- Save and download the confirmation slip for future reference.
How to Pay the Fee and Report at the Allotted College?
Once seats are allotted based on locked choices, candidates must pay the fee and report to the college. Fee payment is done online through the KEA portal. Payment can be made using net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.
After paying the fee, candidates must download the admission order. They must then visit the allotted college with original documents for admission. The reporting window closes on July 29, 2026.
Choices locked in Round 1 decide the seat you enter counselling with. A poorly ordered list can push you into a lower preference. The extended window is a real chance to fix mistakes before final allotment.
Action Plan for Candidates
- Log in to the KEA portal and review your current choice list.
- Reorder colleges and courses based on merit rank and interest.
- Lock the choices before 6 pm on July 28, 2026.
- Keep the seat allotment fee ready for online payment on July 29.
- Carry original marksheets, CET admit card, and Aadhaar for college reporting.
Watch the KEA portal for the Round 1 final seat allotment result and the Round 2 option entry schedule expected in the first week of August.
