What Are the Seat Acceptance Options?

The CAP Round 2 allotment offers three seat-handling choices. Each option carries different consequences for the next round.

  • Auto Freeze: Applied when a seat is allotted from a candidate's first three preferences. The candidate must pay the fee. They cannot appear in later rounds.
  • Self Freeze: Chosen by candidates content with the current allotment from lower preferences. They exit further rounds after payment.
  • Not Freeze or Betterment: The candidate accepts the current seat and pays the fee. They stay eligible for CAP Round 3 for a better option.

How to Report to the Allotted Institute?

Candidates must visit the allotted college in person during the reporting window. They must carry original documents and the admission fee for verification.

  1. Log in and pay the online seat acceptance fee through net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.
  2. Download the allotment letter and fee receipt from the portal.
  3. Report to the allotted institute with original documents and photocopies.
  4. Pay the institute admission fee at the college counter.
  5. Collect the system-generated admission confirmation receipt.

Documents Required at Reporting

Candidates should carry the MAH BDes CET 2026 scorecard, Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets, and the CAP Round 2 allotment letter. Category, domicile, and identity proofs are also required as per eligibility rules.

Why This Round Matters

Round 2 is the second of three CAP rounds for BDes seats in Maharashtra. Candidates who miss the August 17 deadline lose the allotted seat. The seat then moves to the vacancy pool for CAP Round 3.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Log in at bdesign2026.mahacet.org and check the allotted seat.
  2. Select the freeze option that matches your preference plan.
  3. Pay the seat acceptance fee online before 3:00 PM on August 17, 2026.
  4. Arrange original documents, photocopies, and the institute admission fee.
  5. Report to the allotted institute before 5:00 PM on August 17, 2026.
  6. Collect the system-generated confirmation receipt from the institute.
Keep an Eye On

The CET Cell will release the CAP Round 3 vacancy list and schedule soon after Round 2 reporting closes. Candidates opting for Not Freeze must watch the portal for updates.
