The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened the NEET MDS 2026 seat resignation window. Round 1 and Round 2 candidates can now withdraw their allotted seats. The facility is live at mcc.nic.in till 5 PM on September 30, 2026. Resignation involves forfeiture of the security deposit as per MCC rules.
NEET MDS 2026 window opened at 9 AM on September 26, 2026. It covers Round 1 and Round 2 Freeze and Float candidates. Float candidates must not have received an upgrade in the previous round. Seats freed through this process will return to the pool for Round 3 counselling.

How to Resign the NEET MDS 2026 Seat?
The process differs based on the candidate category. Using the wrong process may lead to rejection of the resignation request.
Process for Freeze Candidates
Freeze candidates must physically report to their allotted institute. Online resignation is not permitted for this group. The institute will process the withdrawal and update the MCC records accordingly.
Process for Float Candidates
Float candidates must log in to their MCC account on the official portal. They must generate the Seat Withdrawal Slip online through the dashboard. Failure to generate this slip will make the resignation null and void.

What Happens to the Security Deposit?
All candidates using this window will forfeit their security deposit. MCC has clearly stated this condition in the official notice. Candidates should consider the financial implication before deciding to resign.

Who Can Resign the Allotted Seat?
The facility is open only to specific categories from the first two rounds. Other candidates cannot use this window for seat withdrawal.
- Round 1 Freeze candidates who joined and now wish to withdraw
- Round 1 Float candidates who did not receive an upgrade
- Round 2 Freeze candidates who joined the allotted seat
- Round 2 Float candidates who did not receive an upgrade
Seats resigned in this window return to the vacancy pool for Round 3. This creates fresh openings for candidates seeking better colleges or branches in the next round.

- Log in to your MCC account at mcc.nic.in and verify current allotment status
- Confirm whether you fall under the Freeze or Float not upgraded category
- Freeze candidates should visit the allotted institute in person with valid ID proof
- Float candidates should generate and download the Seat Withdrawal slip from the portal
- Complete the resignation before 5 pm on September 30 2026 to avoid null and void status
