MCC NEET SS 2026 Round 1 Resignation Window Open for INI SS Candidates

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened the Round 1 resignation window for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS) 2026 candidates who have also secured seats through the Institute of National Importance Super Speciality (INI SS) counselling. The notice was issued on July 2, 2026, on the official MCC portal at mcc.nic.in.

The facility applies only to candidates allotted seats in the INI SS counselling. They may now surrender the NEET SS Round 1 seat allotted by MCC. This lets them join the INI SS institute of their choice.

As per the MCC notice, the resignation of INI-allotted candidates will be accepted without forfeiture of the security deposit. Candidates using this window will not be eligible for further rounds of MCC NEET SS 2026 counselling.

How to Resign the NEET SS 2026 Round 1 Seat?

The resignation is a college-driven online process routed through the MCC portal. Candidates cannot resign directly on the website. They must approach the allotted institute within the window stated in the official notice.

  • Approach the allotted college with your INI SS rank letter and identity proof.
  • Submit a written undertaking stating that you are resigning to join an INI SS seat.
  • The college authority generates the resignation online from the MCC login.
  • The college emails the signed resignation and INI rank letter to MCC.
  • Collect your original documents from the college on completion.
  • MCC has clarified that any offline resignation processed by a college is treated as null and void. Only the online resignation raised through the MCC portal will be accepted.

Who Should Use This Window?

This window is meant only for candidates who have received an INI SS 2026 seat allotment. General resignations, non-joining cases, and candidates without an INI seat do not qualify. Such candidates fall under the standard MCC rules for their round.

Why This Matters

The waiver protects INI-bound candidates from losing their security deposit. It also releases their MCC seat back into the pool. These vacated seats are added to the Round 2 seat matrix for other aspirants.

Action Plan for Candidates

  1. Read the July 2 2026 notice on the MCC Super Speciality page in full.
  2. Confirm your INI SS 2026 allotment and download the INI rank letter.
  3. Contact the MCC-allotted college and share your intent to resign.
  4. Prepare the undertaking and keep identity proof ready for submission.
  5. Ensure the college generates the online resignation on the MCC portal.
  6. Track the acknowledgement email and collect your original certificates.
Keep an Eye On

Watch mcc.nic.in for the revised NEET SS 2026 Round 2 seat matrix. Round 2 registration and choice-filling dates will follow the resignation window closure.
