MCC has released the NEET UG 2026 Round 2 seat matrix at mcc.nic.in with 659 newly added seats, 11,302 clear vacancies and 12,283 virtual vacancies. Choice filling closes on September 9 and results will be declared on September 11.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 Round 2 seat matrix. The seat matrix is available on the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in. It was uploaded on September 3, 2026 for candidates registering under All India Quota (AIQ) counselling.
The Round 2 seat matrix covers MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing programmes. It includes 15 percent AIQ seats in state government medical colleges. It also includes 100 percent seats in Deemed and Central Universities, AFMC, AIIMS institutes, and JIPMER.
NEET UG 2026 Round 2 Seat Matrix Highlights
MCC has added a fresh pool of seats for the second round of counselling. The published matrix lists three seat categories that candidates must understand before choice filling.

Clear vacancy refers to seats that remained empty after Round 1 allotment. Virtual vacancy refers to seats currently held by candidates who may upgrade in Round 2. These may become available if the current holder gets a better allotment.

How to Check the NEET UG 2026 Round 2 Seat Matrix?
The seat matrix files are available as PDF downloads on the MCC portal. Candidates should follow the steps below to access them.
- Visit the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in.
- Click on the UG Medical Counselling tab.
- Select the Seat Matrix section on the home page.
- Choose the Round 2 seat matrix link for the desired stream.
- Download the PDF and check college-wise and category-wise seats.
Who Should Register for Round 2?
Round 2 is open to fresh candidates who did not participate in Round 1. It is also open to candidates who did not get an allotment in Round 1. Candidates allotted a seat in Round 1 but who did not join can also register.
Candidates allotted a seat in Round 1 and who joined can participate for upgradation. They must not resign from their current allotted seat before Round 2 result.
The seat matrix decides which colleges and courses candidates can choose. Any seat not listed in the matrix cannot be filled through Round 2 choice locking. Reviewing the college-wise vacancy is the most important step before filling choices.

- Shortlist colleges and courses that match your NEET UG rank.
- Complete Round 2 registration and pay the required fee by September 8, 2026.
- Fill and lock your choices before 9 pm on September 9, 2026.
- Check the seat allotment result on September 11, 2026.
- Report to the allotted college between September 12 and 18, 2026.
