MCI announces recognition to Eight New Post MBBS 2 Years Diploma Courses

In the recent Gazetted Notification released by the Government of India, the Central Government and Board of Governors in association with Medical Council of India (BOG MCI) has declared recognition to 8 Two-Year Post MBBS Diploma Courses approved by the NBE.

With this step, the Authorities are expecting a genuine hike in the number of specialist seats in the outlying part of the country.

The Council has granted the recognition of the courses exercising the authority conferred ‘sub-section (2) of section 11 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956)’.

People are taking help of the social media platforms to congratulate the authorities and Alexander Thomas, President of the Association of Healthcare Providers India (AHPI) on this plausible move which many experts are considering as the need of the hour.

While on the other hand the medical aspirants and MBBS students have mixed feelings for the move.

Some regarded it as a very influential step as they believe it will provide job opportunities as well as training opportunities while others are confused whether the courses will begin from this academic year or from the next year.
