The State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell), Government of Maharashtra, has released the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) Master of Technology (MTech) Centralised Admission Process (CAP) 2026 Round 2 provisional allotment. The important dates around the Round 2 process are listed below.
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| CAP Round 2 Provisional Allotment | August 18, 2026 |
| Seat Acceptance, Fee Payment and Reporting to Institute | Up to August 21, 2026 |
| Option Form for Institute Level Admissions | August 9 to September 7, 2026 |
How to Accept the Allotted Seat and Report to the Institute?
Seat confirmation is a two-step process. Candidates must complete both parts before the August 21 cut-off.
- Log in to the CAP portal using your application ID and password.
- Open the Round 2 allotment page and review the allotted institute and branch.
- Select the seat acceptance option shown against the allotment.
- Pay the applicable admission fee through the online payment gateway.
- Download the seat acceptance receipt and provisional admission letter.
- Visit the allotted institute with all original documents for physical reporting.
Failure to report within the deadline will result in the allotted seat being cancelled. The seat will then move to the vacancy pool for the next round.
What Documents Are Required at the Time of Reporting?
Candidates must carry originals and one set of self-attested copies for verification. The core documents are listed below.
- MHT CET or GATE 2026 scorecard, as applicable.
- Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology mark sheets and degree certificate.
- Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets.
- Domicile certificate and nationality proof.
- Caste certificate, non-creamy layer certificate and EWS certificate, where applicable.
- Aadhaar card and recent passport size photographs.
- CAP application form, allotment letter and fee receipt.
Institute Level Round for Vacant Seats
Seats that remain vacant after CAP Round 2 are filled at the institute level. The option form window is open from August 9 to September 7, 2026.
Candidates who have not yet secured a seat should register for the institute level round in parallel. This offers a second route for MTech admission in 2026-27.
Round 2 is the last centralised CAP round for MTech admissions in Maharashtra this year. Missing the August 21 reporting window pushes candidates into the institute level round, where seat choices depend on college-wise vacancies rather than a state-wide merit pool.
