Understanding the MTech CAP Process in Brief
The MHT CET MTech CAP is a centralised counselling process for Maharashtra. It is managed by the State CET Cell for postgraduate engineering admissions. The process fills MTech and ME seats in government and unaided colleges. Candidates apply through a single portal and receive seats based on merit.
CAP 2026 for MTech has been conducted in four rounds this year. Round 4 is the last chance to secure a seat via CAP. After this round, unfilled seats move to the institute-level process.

What Happens If Candidates Miss the September 7 Deadline?

They cannot rejoin the same seat through the CAP route. Vacant seats may then move to the institute-level admission round.
Round 4 is the last chance for CAP-based MTech admissions in 2026. Candidates who accept and report now confirm their seat for the session. Remaining vacancies may move to the institute-level admission process later.
