Mumbai University Distance Education Exams Postponed; Check Details Here

The final year exams of students from the Institute of Distance Education and Open Learning will be conducted in multiple slots by the Mumbai University. The exams have been rescheduled to October 19, 2020. 

The University of Mumbai is also looking forward to various options to conduct the exam without any technical issue for IDOL students. The exam was postponed since a “cyber attack” forcefully brought down the server at the time of the exam. 

It is expected that a total of around 17,000 final year IDOL students will appear for the exams in October 2020.

The University officials on Thursday discussed numerous ways through which they can conduct the exams. There were several discussions held regarding changing the online service provider, some officials also said that selecting a new vendor at such short notice would be a difficult task for the university.

Some of the officials also suggested lowering the load on the server by conducting the exams in a large number of slots. For this, the university can divide the students in various batches based on the subjects, teaching staff and location.

Also, a large number of colleges will be done with the process of conducting exams and might help in conducting distance education online exams. As per the statements made by a University Official, he said that the university is considering all the possibilities as the university does not want to postpone the exams again. However, the Board Director, Vinod Patil has said that nothing has been finalized yet.
