NEET SS 2025 Cutoff Reduced to 30th Percentile; Check Revised Group-Wise Scores

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released the revised NEET SS 2025 cutoffs. The notice is available at natboard.edu.in. The qualifying percentile has been reduced from 50th percentile to 30th percentile.

The revision follows a Health Ministry letter dated September 22, 2026 and a Supreme Court order dated September 17, 2026. All candidates scoring at or above the 30th percentile are now considered qualified for NEET SS 2025.

NEET SS 2025 Revised Group-Wise Qualifying Scores

The revised cutoffs apply across 15 specialty groups. All qualifying scores are calculated out of a maximum of 600 marks.

The Medical group witnessed the biggest reduction, with the cutoff dropping from 225 marks to 175 marks. Obstetrics and Gynaecology recorded the highest revised cutoff at 325 marks.

What Has Not Changed in NEET SS 2025 Result?

NBEMS has clarified two major points in its official notice:

• The Question Paper Group-specific rank declared on January 23, 2026 will remain unchanged.
• No fresh scorecards will be issued to candidates.

The revision only expands the qualifying candidate pool. The original ranks and marks will remain unchanged.

1. Visit the official NBEMS website at natboard.edu.in.
2. Open the notice titled “Result of NEET-SS 2025”.
3. Find your specialty group in the revised cutoff table.
4. Compare your total score with the revised qualifying score.

Why Was the NEET SS Cutoff Reduced?

The Supreme Court directed a review of the qualifying threshold after concerns regarding vacant super-speciality seats under the earlier 50th percentile criteria.

The reduction from 50th percentile to 30th percentile is expected to increase the number of eligible candidates participating in the NEET SS counselling process.

Next Steps for NEET SS 2025 Counselling

The revised NEET SS results have been shared with the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). MCC conducts All India NEET SS counselling for deemed and central universities.

The Round 2 seat allotment result was declared on August 13, 2026. Newly qualified candidates should regularly check mcc.nic.in for updates regarding fresh registration windows and further counselling rounds.

A stray vacancy round may also be conducted after the revised eligibility list is considered.
