The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has decided to hold its exams in January- February. The exams were previously scheduled to be held in October but were delayed due to the sudden lockdown that was imposed.

NIOS informed all its students about the decision to hold the exams via an official notification. The notice was released on the official website of the institute; nios.ac.in . The notice stated that the institute has decided to hold the previously postponed exams in the month of Jan-Feb.

The notice further states that the students would be informed regarding the schedule of the examination later on. As such, the students who would be appearing for the exams should start preparing. The notice also released the schedule for registration and payment of the exam fee.

Usually, the process for registration and examination fee could be done offline, but this year only online mode was available. This was done so, keeping the impact of Covid-19 in mind. The notice asked the regional directors to ensure compliance and bring up any issues that may be faced by the students.

NIOS 2020: Important Dates

The notice released by NIOS also announced the schedule for the registration and examination fee. The dates are given below and all students should register before the last date to make sure they do not miss the exam.

NIOS has a student strength of over 3 lakh students who are supposed to appear for Class 10 and Class 12 exams. The lack of clarity was severely hurting the future of many students. As such, the newly released notification must have brought relief to the minds of lakhs of students.
