NITI Aayog Launches Free Online Course For School Students- 'ATL App Development Module'

NITI Aayog has introduced a free online course 'ATAL App Development Module' for the school students under the Atal Innovation Mission. The course is launched in collaboration with the Indian Homegroup start-up Plezmo.

The aim is to transform the school students from being App users to App makers. NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said that the Prime Minister has been encouraging the citizens to use technology and Innovation for an Atma Nirbhar Bharat.

Kant further said "It is important for the young crowd to learn the skills at a young age and enable themselves to become the next generation of technology leaders. Under the ATAL Tinkering Lab Initiative, NITI Aayog is launching the ATL App Development Module for the young minds in the country."

The online course will consist of 6 project-based learning modules and online mentoring sessions where the young innovators can learn to build mobile apps in different languages and showcase their talent.

School teachers will be provided with periodic Teacher Training Sessions so as to conduct the online course.

DIY Kits on the latest technologies like 3D Printers, Robotics, Internet of THings, Miniaturized Electronics are installed at the ATLs dedicated to the innovation workspaces, as per the grant received from the government for the students of classes 6 to 12.

In more than 600 districts, more than 5100 ATLs have been established and more than 2 million students have been provided access to the Tinkering Labs.
