NMC holds Meeting to Enhance Medical Education, NEET Counselling Process; Check Details Here

New Delhi:  Streamlining the NEET counselling process, the National Medical Commission (NMC) recently convened a meeting to address key challenges and discuss innovative solutions.NMC chairman BN Gangadhar, presiding over the meeting, commended the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) members for their valuable contributions to the improvement of medical education in the country.

"Our mission at NMC is to raise the standards of medical education in India and a transparent and smooth NEET Counselling process adds to that goal," the chairman said.

According to the official website, “During the event, the MCC team delivered a thorough presentation in the presence of Atul Goel, Director General of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health. The presentation emphasized the NMC's commitment to streamlining and optimizing counseling procedures in medical education nationwide.

The meeting was attended by Aruna V Vanikar, president of Undergraduate Medical Education Board, Vijay Oza, president of Post Graduate Medical Education Board, Yogender Malik, member of Ethics and Medical Registration Board, B Srinivas, DDG (ME), Pankaj Aggarwal, director IT and coordination), and Aujender Singh, deputy secretary of PGMEB.

The Supreme Court on Monday, reportedly issued a notice in response to a plea requesting an extension of NEET PG counseling for 2023 to address the vacant seats. Last year, 4,400 seats out of 64,059 in NEET PG remained unfilled. Additionally, starting from September 7, the commission initiated the process of hearing grievances and suggestions related to the NMC every Thursday.
