Punjab Schools: Pre-Primary Student Evaluation to Begin from Nov 18; Check Details Here

Punjab: Punjab School Education Department (PSED) has released the dates for the evaluation of pre-primary students in Punjab state. As per the announcement, schools will begin the pre-primary student evaluation from November 18 to November 21, 2020.

With the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic, Punjab School Education Department (PSED) has issued special guidelines for the teachers to evaluate students. 

As per the official statement made by the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD), students will not be called to school for evaluation. 

The Department further stated that teachers will be coordinating with the children through telephone and video calls. Teachers are also directed to not assess more than 15 students a day.

Pre-primary 1st and 2nd class students are evaluated three times a year by schools to realize their physical and mental developments. Hence, strict directions are given to teachers to ask those limited questions only which will be sent by Head Office.

School Education Department has asked teachers to record the assessment of every student in the prescribed proforma. Additionally, they shall communicate with their parents and inform them about student’s performance in a positive manner.

As per the IPRD’s official statement, the Education Department of the schools will carry out activities on a daily basis for the children of pre-primary classes. Activities are being sent through short videos and slides.

Under the Unlock 5.0 guidelines issued by MHA, the State Government of Punjab has reopened the schools for Class 9th to 12th students. However, parental consent is mandatory. The Government has also stated that distance learning and online classes will continue.

MHA issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is being followed by teachers and students. To ensure safety, students are directed to attend the classes by wearing masks and follow social distance norms.
