November 21, 2020: Schools in Thane District will remain shut till December 31, 2020, considering the current scenario of COVID-19. The Collector of Thane district, Rajesh Narvekar stated that no decision has yet been made to reopen schools till December 31, 2020.
Despite the pandemic being under control in the district, there is a kind of fear of the second wave, so taking preventive measures into consideration, the reopening of the Thane District schools was deferred, stated the officials.

Initially, the Thane District schools were supposed to commence from November 23, though after the deferral of the reopening, the online classes will be continued till any further notice.
