UPTAC 2026 Round 1 Cutoff Out; Check Steps to View Opening and Closing Ranks

The Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University ( ) has released the Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC) 2026 Round 1 cutoff on the official portal at uptac.samarth.edu.in. The cutoff has been published in the form of opening and closing ranks. It is available for every participating institute, course and category.

The Round 1 seat allotment result was declared on July 18, 2026. Candidates who have been allotted a seat must complete two actions by July 20, 2026. They must pay the seat acceptance fee and submit their Freeze or Float willingness on the portal.

UPTAC is the centralised counselling process for admission to BTech, BArch, BPharm, MBA, MCA and other technical programmes. It covers government, government-aided and private institutes affiliated to AKTU across Uttar Pradesh. Seat allotment is based on the candidate's JEE Main 2026 rank and locked choices.

Candidates must pay the seat acceptance fee within the deadline. Missing the payment window will lead to automatic cancellation of the allotted seat.

How to Check the UPTAC 2026 Round 1 Cutoff?

The cutoff matrix is hosted on the official UPTAC portal. Candidates can view opening and closing ranks in a few steps.

• Visit the official website at uptac.samarth.edu.in.
• Click on the Cut-Off Matrix link on the homepage.
• Select the year 2026 and choose Round 1 from the dropdown.
• Choose the institute, course and category you want to check.
• The opening and closing ranks for that combination will appear on screen.
• Download or save the page for future reference.

How to Read Opening and Closing Ranks?

The opening rank is the JEE Main rank of the first candidate allotted a seat in that college, branch, category and round. The closing rank is the rank of the last candidate allotted in the same combination.

If your rank falls between the opening and closing rank for a college and branch, you had a fair chance of allotment in Round 1. Candidates should use these ranks as a reference while planning choices for later rounds.

Freeze or Float; Which Option Should You Pick?

Every allotted candidate must submit a willingness option along with the fee. The two choices decide whether you continue in later rounds.

• Freeze: You accept the allotted seat as final. You will exit further counselling rounds and report to the allotted college on the given dates.
• Float: You accept the current seat as a backup. You also stay in the next round for a possible upgrade to a higher preference.

Candidates unsure about an upgrade should pick Float. Those satisfied with the allotted seat should pick Freeze to save time and effort.

Action Plan for Candidates

1. Log in to uptac.samarth.edu.in and check your Round 1 seat allotment result.
2. Open the Cut-Off Matrix and compare your rank with the closing rank of your allotted branch.
3. Pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs 20000 or Rs 12000 as per your category before July 20, 2026.
4. Choose Freeze if you want to lock the seat or Float if you want an upgrade in the next round.
5. Download the provisional allotment letter and keep the fee receipt safe for document verification.
