AKTU has extended the UPTAC 2026 Special Round 1 choice filling deadline to August 16. Seat allotment will be released on August 18, followed by physical reporting from August 19 to 21 at uptac.samarth.edu.in.

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has revised the UPTAC 2026 schedule. The Special Round 1 choice filling deadline has now been extended. Candidates can lock BTech preferences at uptac.samarth.edu.in till August 16, 2026.
Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC) is a state-level engineering counselling process. AKTU conducts it each year for its affiliated institutes across Uttar Pradesh. The Special Round targets seats left vacant after the main rounds.
Seat allotment for Special Round 1 releases on August 18, 2026. Physical reporting at the allotted institute runs from August 19 to 21, 2026. Fee payment and document verification continue till August 14, 2026.
Applicants must pay a Special Round participation fee of Rs 20,000. This fee is non-refundable in all cases. Candidates who miss the physical reporting window will forfeit their allotted seat.

Who Can Participate in the Special Round?
The round is open to JEE Main 2026 qualified BTech aspirants. CUET UG 2026 applicants who selected AKTU during application are also eligible. Integrated MTech and BDes aspirants can also take part in this round.
Fresh candidates who did not register earlier can still enrol now. Earlier allottees who did not report can also apply again. Seats are allotted based on merit rank and choices filled.
How to Fill Choices for UPTAC 2026 Special Round 1?
Candidates must log in with their UPTAC application number and password. The choice filling window closes on August 16, 2026. Choices not locked in time will be auto-locked by the system.
- Visit the official portal at uptac.samarth.edu.in.
- Log in using the UPTAC application number and password.
- Complete fee payment of Rs 20,000 and document verification.
- Select preferred colleges and branches in order of priority.
- Lock the final choice list before the deadline ends.

How Is the Special Round Fee Paid?
The Rs 20,000 fee is payable only through online modes on the Samarth portal. Accepted options include net banking, debit card, credit card, and UPI. A payment receipt must be preserved for verification during physical reporting.
This fee is separate from the main round counselling fee paid earlier. It is charged over and above any registration amount already deposited. Candidates who do not receive an allotment cannot claim a refund.

What Happens After Seat Allotment?
Allotted candidates must download the provisional allotment letter from the portal. They should then report to the allotted institute with the required documents. Original certificates and the fee receipt must be produced during reporting.
Institutes will verify documents and confirm the admission on the spot. Candidates who fail to report on time will have their seat cancelled. The paid Special Round fee will not be refunded in such cases.

Documents Needed at Physical Reporting
Candidates must carry original academic and identity documents to the institute. Photocopies of each document should also be kept ready. Missing documents can lead to cancellation of the allotted seat.
Required documents include Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and certificates. The JEE Main 2026 or CUET UG 2026 scorecard is also mandatory. A valid photo ID such as Aadhaar or PAN card is compulsory.
Category certificates are required for candidates claiming reservation benefits. Domicile proof is needed for Uttar Pradesh state quota seats. The provisional allotment letter must also be presented at the institute.
The extra time helps applicants who missed the earlier registration window. It also lets students review vacant seats before locking final preferences.
