In an effort to benefit students in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, a government school teacher from the Uri border area of North Kashmir's Baramulla district has created a school website as well as an Android application.

Aijaz Sheikh, a native of the Chandanwari village of Uri, who is an IT lecturer, has created a website for his school, Government Higher Secondary Nambla Uri.
The most important aspect is that Sheik has used the limited 2G internet services available in Kashmir to create a website and then, later, an android application to make it easier for students.
"This was supposed to take me only 15 days, but it took me about 3 months to get it done to help the students of my school and the staff there," Aijaz Sheik told ANI.
"I, along with other teachers, have decided to work on our school website, which we discussed with our higher authorities. When the COVID-19 classes started, we also planned how to start online classes for students, "he added.
He said that while the website was created a few months ago, the Android app was only published 8 to 10 days ago and was downloaded by students who benefited from it.
He also said students are not required to visit us from Monday to Saturday.
"The students of lower classes will have early exposure to information technology. The school website is called ghssnambla.in and the android application is named Govt.HSS Nambla, "she said.

"Our website has a number of sections, including the admission section. Students can now apply for admission online. We also have a result section on the website, "he said.
