New Delhi: Vidyasiri Scholarship initiated by Backward Classes Welfare Department (BCWD), Karnataka is open for students from the SC/ST, BC, OBC, and PwD categories. The deadline to apply for the Vidyasiri-Food and Accommodation Scholarship Scheme is April 30, 2022.

Before applying for the scholarship, the applicants must link their Aadhaar number to their bank account. This will ensure smooth processing of scholarships and faster distribution of funds, KARePass connects the treasury, bank, Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC), and college records to the welfare department.

Vidyasiri Scholarship Karnataka 2021-22: Highlights

The Karnataka government will use the Direct Benefits Transfer (DBT) method to transfer the Vidyasiri Scholarship money directly to the beneficiary bank account. The Vidyasiri Scholarship money can be used to get admission to a junior college or pursue higher studies. Every year, the government gives the ePASS Vidyasiri Scholarship to around 20,000 students.

Vidyasiri Scholarship Karnataka 2021-22: Rewards

Below are the ePASS Vidyasiri Scholarship 2021 amount details: 

• PMS FAAS, FC, and NUR Vidyasiri Scholarship: Full tuition fee.
• Vidyasiri Scholarship Hostel Accommodation Scheme: Tuition fee and the hostel fee of the selected students.
• Prathiba Puraskar Vidyasiri Scholarship: Selected candidates will receive an INR 1,500 each month for ten months. Students receive a total amount of INR 15,000 PA through this Vidyasiri Scholarship 2021. 

Vidyasiri Scholarship Karnataka 2021-22: Eligibility Criteria 

The Vidyasiri Scholarship 2021 eligibility criteria are as follows: 

• Candidates should be a citizen of India.
• Candidates should belong to the SC/ST/BC/OBC/PwD or minority category.
• Should have passed the 10th standard.
• Candidates should be pursuing post-matric courses in government-aided, local or non-aided institutions affiliated to Karnataka universities. 

Fee Concession for PMS FAAS, FC and NUR 

Candidates applying for the PMS, FAAS, FC and NUR scheme should fulfill the following criteria: 

• Candidates should have a minimum of 75%
• Family income should not exceed INR 2 LPA.
• The BC, OBC and differently-abled students' family income should not exceed INR 1 LPA. 

For Candidates Applying for Fresh Hostel Registration 

Students applying for fresh hostel registration through the Vidyasiri Scholarship 2021 are as follows: 

• Applicants should belong to 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B or the SC/ST, OBC, BC and PwD
• The distance between the house and the college for candidates residing in rural areas should be more than 5 km.
• The family income should not be more than INR 2.5 LPA.
• The fresh applicants belonging to category-1 should have 40% marks, and the renewal applicants should have 50%.
• Fresh applicants belonging to 2A, 3A and 3B categories should have 50% marks, and the renewal applicants should have 60%. 

Prathiba Puraskar Scholarship 

The candidates applying for the Prathiba Puraskar Vidyasiri Scholarship 2021 should have the below requirements:

•  They should have secured more than 90% marks in the SSLC or PUC
• The students can avail the benefits of the Prathiba Puraskar Vidyasiri Scholarship only once in a lifetime.

• The category-1 students' family income limit for Vidyasiri Scholarship is INR 1 LPA.
• For candidates belonging to 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B categories, the family income should exceed INR 2.5 LPA.

Vidyasiri Scholarship Karnataka 2021-22: Selection Process

The selection process of candidates for the Vidyasiri Scholarship 2021-22 is as follows:

• Applicants should send their documents to the backward classes' welfare officers in their taluk.
• The papers will be verified by the taluk officers before being submitted online.
• The district officer would investigate the details after the taluk officials have verified it.
• The candidates must have a minimum of 75% attendance. This information should be obtained from the college principal and uploaded online by the taluk officer.
• The Vidyasiri Scholarship should be approved by the taluk level officials.
• Following approval, officials will use the Treasury-2 software to send the Vidyasiri Scholarship 2021 amount to the candidate's bank account.

Vidyasiri Scholarship Karnataka 2021-22: How to Apply?

The application process for the Vidyasiri Scholarship 2021 is as follows:

• Open the SSP scholarship portal- https://ssp.postmatric.karnataka.gov.in/

• Register with the required details and obtain the login credentials. 
• Log in by entering their login ID/SATS ID and password.
• Fill in the application form for Vidyasiri Scholarship 2021 and then click on the submit button.
• Candidates should take a print-out, attach the documents, self-attest the records and send it to the concerned officers.
