With its Third Kendriya Vidyalaya in Madurai, India gets 1241 KVs Now

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan launched a new school in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Named as Kendriya Vidyalaya ITBP Idayapatti, it will run Clases 1-5 for 2020-21 academic year.

The admission process for the new Kendriya Vidyalaya will follow the usual schedule for all KVs. With this new introduction, the country gets about 1,241 KVs.

Earlier to this, the Ministry of Education has launched four new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) in India.

The new KVs will be KV SSB in Champawat, Uttarakhand; KV Railway in Dangoaposi, Jharkhand; KV Madhupuri in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh; and KV Sumerpur in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh.

An official statement by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan reads, “The above Vidyalaya will start functioning from Class 1 to Class 5 (single section in each class) during the academic year 2020-2021 and thereafter will grow consequently based on feasibility.”

Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal took to twitter for announcing the launch and congratulate students and their parents.

He said, “Delighted to share that Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is opening a new School today, named 'Kendriya Vidyalaya ITBP Idayapatti' in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu.

I extend my heartiest congratulations to all the students and parents who will benefit from this school. It is the 1241st school of the ever-growing chain of Kendriya Vidyalayas in the country.”

Earlier, KV Sangathan announced the last date for admission to Class 11 is September 15, 2020.
