Bennett University > LPU for engineering/management, though both are private universities with their own strengths.
Bennett University (Greater Noida):
LPU (Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar):
for CSE/engineering specifically: Bennett's NCR location and smaller, more focused batch give it an edge for quality placements. LPU works better if budget is a constraint or if you specifically want their entrepreneurship ecosystem.
neither is a top-tier choice if you have NIT/BITS/good state govt college options. if choosing between only these two, go Bennett for engineering — the NCR location and Times group backing outweigh LPU's scale advantage.
yes, LPU does accept JEE Main scores for B.Tech admission — and it comes with scholarship benefits which most people don't know about.
here's how it works:
the thing most people miss — if you're applying to LPU using JEE Main, don't skip giving LPUNEST too. LPUNEST scholarships can sometimes stack or provide better deals depending on your score. give both and see which gives better scholarship before committing.
also worth knowing: LPU has a large international campus, decent placements for CSE (~6-8 LPA avg), and a strong entrepreneurship culture. it's a reasonable option if you have a mid-range JEE score and want a private university with good infrastructure. fees before scholarship are on the higher side (~Rs.1.5-2L/semester) so make sure you've locked in the scholarship in writing before paying anything.
97 percentile in JEE Main for NIT Trichy — here's the honest answer:
NIT Trichy is one of the top 5 NITs. 97 percentile = roughly rank 30,000-35,000.
For home state Tamil Nadu (HS quota): 97 percentile gives decent chances for Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical branches. CSE and ECE at NIT Trichy HS typically close around 99+ percentile, so those won't open at 97.
For outside Tamil Nadu (OS quota): 97 percentile is not enough for NIT Trichy in any branch through OS quota. NIT Trichy OS cutoffs are extremely competitive — even Civil/Mech OS closes around 98.5-99+ percentile. At 97 percentile outside TN, NIT Trichy is very unlikely.
what to do at 97 percentile OS:
check JoSAA 2024 closing ranks for exact figures. 97 percentile is a solid score for mid-tier NITs OS or top NITs HS in non-CS branches.
81 percentile in JEE Main = rough rank around 1,40,000–1,60,000. SIT Pune (Symbiosis Institute of Technology) is a private autonomous college in Pune that accepts JEE Main scores, and at this rank you'd likely get in — but it's worth thinking through whether it's the right move.
SIT Pune is a decent private engineering college. CSE is the most sought-after branch there, placements average around Rs.6–8 LPA. fees are around Rs.2–2.5L/year which is reasonable for a private college in Pune.
the bigger question at 81 percentile is — what else are you comparing SIT to?
don't only go by JEE ranks — apply to state counseling too because at 81 percentile your state quota options could be surprisingly good depending on which state you're from.
DU BBA cutoffs are now through CUET UG scores (since 2022) — not 12th board marks anymore. so "cutoffs" now refer to CUET scores, not percentage marks.
top DU BBA colleges and their approximate CUET competitiveness (General category):
for current year cutoffs, check the DU admission portal (du.ac.in) after CUET results are announced. each college announces their CUET score cutoffs via the CSAS (Common Seat Allocation System) portal. don't rely on old percentage-based cutoffs — those are outdated since CUET replaced them.
AIIMS Bibinagar (Telangana) is one of the newer AIIMS institutes established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) initiative. why choose it?
honest caveat: AIIMS Bibinagar is newer than AIIMS Delhi, Jodhpur, Bhopal etc. facilities are still being established. the quality will improve over time but it's not the same as older AIIMS yet. if you get any AIIMS over a private medical college — always choose AIIMS regardless of campus age.
okay so first — DU BTech and DTU are totally different colleges, a LOT of people mix this up so flagging early lol
for University of Delhi (actual DU) BTech, admission is through JEE Main via JAC Delhi counseling. 2024 general category closing ranks:
if you're a Delhi student you compete in the 85% home quota which is a massive advantage. outside Delhi? 15% seats only, much tighter cutoffs. also — cutoffs in later JAC rounds (3-4) drop by 2,000–5,000 ranks from round 1 so don't freeze choices too early. always verify on the JAC Delhi portal before locking!
IIT Guwahati is one of the original 5 IITs. best branches ranked by career outcomes and demand:
1. CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) — strongest placements, avg Rs.25-35+ LPA, top companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon visit. most sought-after branch.
2. ECE (Electronics and Communication) — strong placements in both core and software roles. Qualcomm, Samsung, TI visit for core roles.
3. EE (Electrical Engineering) — strong for both PSU and software paths. good GATE scores typically from here.
4. Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (new program) — gaining traction quickly, very relevant for AI/ML industry career.
5. Mech, Chemical, Civil — decent for core engineering roles and PSUs. Mech especially strong for BARC, ONGC, IOCL.
IIT Guwahati has strengths in research (Biosciences, Physics, Chemistry are world-class research departments) but for career placement focus — CSE is clearly the best branch, followed by ECE and DSAI.
