What is the latest branch change policy at IIT Bhubaneswar for the 2018 batch?

KN
Kanika Nerula Posted On : August 14th, 2020
Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (2020)

The overall branch change policy is the same in other IITs. However, there is a 10% rule which should be followed. No branch should have more than 110% and less than 90% of its actual batch strength.

The students who want to change the branch should score more than 8.5 CGPA without any backlog at the end of the second semester. If in case, there is a tie or equal CGPA, then the student having a better JEE ADVANCED rank will be given the priority. Students of 4 years B.Tech are eligible for consideration for a change of branch to any engineering courses including 4-year B.Tech and 5-year dual degree. However, the students in dual degree programs can change to dual degree programs only. Any change in the branch is final.

Should I join SIBM Bangalore this year or should I wait another year and try for better colleges?

AS
Arpita Sinha Posted On : June 29th, 2021
Studied at IIM C (2019)

As a fresher, working in the software sector will not fetch you much benefit. The industry is full of politics and Onsite is a dream now.

  • If you have an offer from an MNC and are considering trying for better colleges, I would suggest you take up the job and keep preparing for next year simultaneously.
  • I am sure you will be able to score more than this year in CAT and SNAP.
  • This will increase your chances of getting calls from better colleges than SIBM Bangalore.

Categories

SIBM Bangalore

Course Fee

14.5 lakh

Highest CTC

18-26 LPA

Average CTC

8-10 LPA

Recruiting Companies

Credit Suisse, JP Morgan, Dell, Bisleri, etc.

SIBM is a good college, but the average packages are a bit low compared to the time and money invested. If you are hardworking and determined to convert to better colleges than this, I would suggest you prepare for next year and give your best to it. Otherwise, you can go to SIBM, Bangalore.

  • Most will be for undergraduate study. If you miss out on applying for scholarships initially, don't worry.
  • Many senior students have the opportunity to apply for scholarships.
  • If you're denied a seat through the fee waiver program, you can still apply for a scholarship.
