Which is better, IET Lucknow or KNIT Sultanpur?

VB
Vandana Batra Posted On : May 4th, 2023
B.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering, Kamla Nehru Institute Of Technology (2016)

When it comes to choosing between KNIT Sultanpur and IET Lucknow, it's important to remember that "better" is subjective and depends on personal preferences. Let's take a closer look at both options:

KNIT Sultanpur:

  • KNIT has both good and bad faculties, so the quality of education may vary.
  • Campus life is bustling with lots of councils and activities, making it easy to stay engaged throughout the year.
  • The campus is decent, with lots of greenery and a peaceful environment for studying.
  • In the first and second year, it's important to attend classes seriously, but in later years, you can manage with less or very less classes depending on your time management skills.
  • For students in CE, EE, and ME, there is no placement scope in KNIT, and they must crack GATE or other competitive exams to secure a job. Fortunately, there is ample time available for GATE preparation in the final year due to fewer classes, and Sultanpur provides a distraction-free environment.
  • CS, IT, and EL students have more placement opportunities, with TCS recruiting over 100 engineers each year and other companies like Qualcomm, Mediatech, Lava, and Snapdeal also participating.

IET Lucknow:

  • Both KNIT and IET have similar faculties.
  • Infrastructure at IET is slightly better than KNIT.
  • Lucknow city provides students with more exposure and networking opportunities.
  • IET is near Made Easy and ACE coaching centers, which can be useful for GATE preparation.
  • Placements are almost the same in both colleges.
  • Hostel life at KNIT is arguably better.
  • Both colleges have councils and forums, but KNIT has more.

In conclusion, both KNIT Sultanpur and IET Lucknow have their advantages and disadvantages, and it's up to you to decide which one suits your preferences better.

What is the typical life of a student at TAPMI, Manipal?

DP
Daksh Prajapati Posted On : May 16th, 2023
Studied at TAPMI, Manipal

The curriculum at TAPMI is extremely busy. The number of quizzes, projects, assignments, and committee work is enormous. Additionally, due dates are sacred. If you are a fresher, you go through a lot of change in terms of the development of corporate culture, and it's a pretty important lesson for an MBA graduate to learn. It can be challenging at times, but it is extremely vital. Even if you have worked, you put in more effort than usual (or you're forced to) and work to advance your management and technical skills.

You are given a lot of rigour, prepared to accept responsibility, and work in teams to complete some extraordinarily difficult jobs. A normal day begins at 8 am with classes that may begin at 8:30 am and end as late as 8:15 pm, with significant breaks in between; tests, assignments, and projects take up your afternoon. It would be a lot busier if you were on a committee or if it was placement season.

The good news is that Manipal is a great place to live and that's where you spend your evenings (at least some of them). In the midst of rural Udupi, it is a metropolitan metropolis with everything from 5-star hotels and bars to beaches and shopping centers. People party hard because alcohol is inexpensive, and those who work the hardest are also the hardest party animals!

Motor vehicles are allowed for both juniors and seniors and you must be on campus by 11:30 p.m. If you work till two or three in the morning to finish any unfinished business, the Night Canteen will save the day. However, at the end of the day, you know that you are preparing yourself for the corporate world (the placements are excellent), and that motivates you.

How do I prepare for the IIT-JAM biotechnology?

AD
Ananya Dutta Posted On : January 29th, 2021
Studied at Rajasthan Technical University

Due to the increased competition and lesser number of seats, Biotechnology becomes one of the toughest courses in the IIT-JAM examination. To get admission in IITs and NITs in Biotechnology, you should prepare well and make a strategy to cope up with the high competition level.

Syllabus:

The syllabus of the Biotechnology course (IIT JAM) is mainly a combination of four major subjects like Biology, Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. So to clear the question papers you need to prepare all these four subjects thoroughly.

Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ): Each MCQ question will have 4 choices. Out of which only one choice is correct.
  • Multiple Select Questions (MSQ): MSQs are similar to MCQs. The only difference is that among the 4 choices given you will have another correct answer. You will get full marks if you guess all the correct answers and no wrong answers.
  • Numerical Answer Type Questions (NAT): For each NAT type question, the correct answer is a real number that you need to enter using the virtual keyboard. You will not get any choices for such questions.

There are a total of 60 questions carrying 100 marks. The question paper has 3 sections, i.e. A, B, and C. All these sections are compulsory. The sectional division of the questions is as follows.

  • Section A- Contains 30 MCQ with one or two marks each.
  • Section B- contains 10 questions carrying two marks each.
  • Section C- Contains 20 NAT questions carrying one or two marks each.

Only section A has negative marking.

Preparation Tips:

  • First, you need to note down the whole syllabus of IIT-JAM Biotechnology and focus on active and passive subjects before starting their preparations.
  • The classification of active and passive topics depends on topics’ popularity, focusing on more popular topics rather than preparing less popular topics.
  • To know more about popular topics you can refer to the question papers of last year's biotechnology course, it’ll also help you to know more about the exam pattern, difficulty level and also helps you improve your speed and accuracy to solve the questions.
  • Consult reference books to clear concepts. Give mock tests for practice.

The tips & tricks and all guidelines given above will definitely help you while preparing for the IIT-JAM Biotechnology exam.

How is KIIT BBSR?

SK
Sanjana Kapoor Posted On : July 26th, 2023
KIIT Bhubaneshwar

I am a third year student at KIIT. Till now, my experience has been great. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time over here and made some great friends.

KIIT is a good institution with great facilities. It is, however, a little on the expensive side. The students are not pressurized unnecessarily in the name of studies, which is a good thing. The campus life is also great over here.

A lot of companies visit the campus. Some years ago, some big IT companies did not visit the campus for placements. The institution compensated by bringing in startups and even, surprisingly, some BPOs.

Apart from studies, the students of KIIT make use of opportunities to go for various extracurriculars and indulge in hobbies that they couldn’t practice before due to family pressure or other circumstances. Many students even decide to pursue their passion.

Alumni of KIIT like Amandeep Khayal (Amandeep Singh) and Kartik Bhagat decided to choose their passion over Engineering.

Bhubaneswar as a city does not offer much to the youth. However, KIIT is a good institution and you will spend some of the best years of your life over here.

to track the status of an applied certificate at Osmania University (OU), Hyderabad:

  • Online portal: visit osmania.ac.in ? examination ? certificate status/services section
  • Application reference number: keep the acknowledgment slip/receipt you received when you submitted your application — it has a reference/application number
  • Enquiry: you can visit the University's examination section at Tarnaka campus and enquire in person with your reference number
  • Phone/email: contact OU examination controller office — numbers available on osmania.ac.in

Is a DU SOL degree valuable?

SJ
Sudhanshu Juneja Posted On : October 6th, 2021
Studied B.Com University of Delhi,Pannalal Girdharlal Dayanand Anglo Vedic,University of Delhi (2021)

Yes, a degree from DU SOL is most certainly valuable. But it is recommended to pursue some other specialized course, as an SOL degree might put you in a difficult position while seeking job opportunities.

It is suitable for those who cannot attend classes due to their time invested in some other program. If you are too in such a position then it would be like a cherry on the cake.

You would most definitely be able to secure a job with SOL degree but preparing for other competitive exams, establishing a business, or practicing a professional course would turn out as a huge advantage, giving you an edge over other aspirants.
