Which is better Calicut University or Pondicherry University?

DV
Dishant Verma Posted On : October 29th, 2022
MSc in Applied Psychology & Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Pondicherry University

Pondicherry University's campus is extremely student-friendly, with free wifi available 24 hours a day and clean female hostels. It has the most extensive library. There is a free bus service on campus, as well as a shopping complex and other amenities. Paperwork and administrative tasks are also completed on time. Pondicherry is also a lovely location. You receive all of the advantages of studying at a Central University.

The syllabus at Calicut University which is a state university is excellent, but administrative support is lacking. Your certificates will not arrive on time. And the first-semester end exam will be held during the second semester's end, which is extremely complicated. Calicut University has a good campus, as well as a good library.

How good is IMT Hyderabad in terms of ROI?

DS
Divya Saraf Posted On : July 11th, 2023
Lives in Hyderabad

There are many factors that one can take into consideration in order to judge the worth and credibility of an institute. Apart from ROI, you can also consider the quality of education, faculty, infrastructure, location, and others too.

Located in Hyderabad, Telangana, IMT Hyderabad is a premium B School that has won many awards such as Best Upcoming B-School in South India by ASSOCHAM and the Dewang Mehta Education Leadership Award 2016. The institute has strong ties with the industry and quite a few sessions in the regular courses are conducted by experienced leaders

The infrastructure is also great and the campus is lush green with decent hostel facilities inside the campus. The campus enjoys good connectivity as it's in close proximity to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Hyderabad.

Placements-wise, IMT Hyderabad is average considering its small alumni pool and recent establishment. The highest package was recorded at INR 16 LPA while the average package was recorded at INR 9.4 LPA.

Overall, the institute seems promising and the scenario might improve in the coming future.

How is it possible that IIIT Bangalore's mTech CSE Average package (27.5LPA) is greater than IIT Guwahati CSE Average package (27.04LPA)?

AB
Aditi Banerjee Posted On : May 3rd, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

The difference in the packages is due to the inflated figures released by the institutes. For instance, Microsoft offers 42 LPA packages but the actual in-hand salary is only 13 LPA.

Also, IIIT Bangalore has no core job offers whereas, in IIT Guwahati, you can also explore other domains apart from IT like finance, consulting, analysis, data science, etc. It is exactly why Inthunk placements should never be the criteria to judge the credibility of an institute or program. Rather, we should start considering in-hand averages.

Another possible reason for IIIT Bangalore's better placements is the excellent research-focused culture that provides great knowledge and scope.

Which one is better, ISB Hyderabad or IIM Calcutta?

AH
Anisha Hinduja Posted On : December 16th, 2022
MBA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Indian School of Business (Graduated 2015)

It all depends on what you want out of life. If you have more than three years of experience, you should apply to ISB Hyderabad or IIM Calcutta. Furthermore, ISB offers a challenging 8 semester in 12 months program that prepares you to handle any type of workload after that.

Though IIM Calcutta is excellent for finance professionals. If that's the situation, you can go for it. You should not compare the one-year programs at IIM Calcutta and ISB Hyderabad. If you are, ISB is far superior.

How is UEM Kolkata? Is it as good as IEM?

SK
Saifuddin Khan Posted On : May 24th, 2021
B.Sc from the University of Hyderabad

My brother studied in IEM Kolkata and firstly, it is a reputed college in West Bengal, even more than Jadavpur and IIEST Shibpur. The placement rate at IEM is about 80%-90%. On the other hand, UEM is a regular engineering college with only a few defining features. Its fame is because of the fact that it was established by the IEM trust.

  • However, if you compare UEM with IEM then, IEM wins on the faculty quality and placement scenario. At IEM, the teachers are friendly and enthusiastic.
  • IEM also has a limited number of seats that are filled based on the rank in WBJEE. It does not have a management quota.
  • UEM was established recently, so it is a relatively new private university and is the third of the three engineering institutions founded by the IEM-UEM Group.
  • UEM is a much more disciplined institution, quiet more than IEM.

If you're keen on choosing between these two, I'd suggest you consider the student intake because if the number is lesser then it's better. For this, you can ask alumni or someone currently studying there. Some students also have a negative view of IEM. The IT department is not as good because my brother's friend is there and claims that the professors do not know even the basics of the program.

So, be very refined in your research before choosing.
