What are the best things for Mithibai College students to do on weekends?
There are many things that you can do to keep yourself engaged during weekends at Mitgibai College. Many cultural events are conducted throughout the year. If you take part in these activities, the practice sessions will keep you busy. Also, there are many extra-curricular and sports activities on campus. In which you can take part.
Other than cultural activities the college also conducts other activities. If interested, you can take part in these activities. There are also tracking activities during weekends. If you are a foodie, you can explore the many good eateries situated around the campus.
How is mechanical engineering in UIET Chandigarh?
Although the Punjab University was established as early as 1882, its UIET, the engineering department was established in 2002. Here are a few highlights pertaining to Mechanical Engineering at UIET
- Curriculum: UIET Mechanical Engineering has a decent course structure at par with top NITs and some IITs. Exclusive subjects like Finite Element Methods, Robotics, Mechatronics, and Automatic Controls are taught in this branch.
- Faculty: Most of the professors are learned and experienced although you will find some average teachers too.
- Extracurriculars: UIET is well-known for its dynamic campus life owing to a variety of events. Students here can be seen participating in the national level events organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers(SAE) such as BAJA, Efficycle, etc. Occasionally events like AAVISHKAR and GOONJ are held in addition to other cultural and literary fests.
- Achievements: UIET has a list of achievements the biggest is that it hosts SAE Efficycle which is a huge event. Additionally, a team from UIET went to NASA for the “Moonbuggy” project in 2013. UIET also has a record of excellent performance by Mechanical Engineers in GATE, CAT, and other Competitive Exams. The cutoffs are increasing every year.
- Alumni: UIET has an elaborate alumni pool that can be found in big PSUs like IOCL, BPCL, ONGC, HPCL, SAIL, Government Research Organisation, and almost every top management college.
- Placements: Although good, UIET placements can never be at par with IITs and NITs. The department is new and still needs to grow to attract big recruiters. Currently, it’s visited by companies like Honda, HMEL, Technip, Oceaneering, Mondelez International, ZS Associates, DESL, JSW, Nestle, etc
In all, UIET focuses on the holistic development of its students thereby helping you grow as a person thanks to its lively hostel and campus life.
What is your review of FPM (Fellow Programme in Management), IIM Ahmedabad?
FPM offered by IIM Ahmedabad is a 4-year long doctoral course in the various specializations of management. It offers specialization in Information Systems, Business Policy, Human Resource Management, Innovation and Management in Education, Strategy, etc.
Here are a few major points regarding the program that you should consider
- The program comprised 3 modules containing compulsory and elective courses. You can study 2 specializations.
- You cannot pursue this program alongside working somewhere as this is a full-time residential course.
- IIM Ahmedabad FPM annual fee is INR 2 to INR 13 lakhs. You will be glad o know that the tuition fee is completely waived and a monthly stipend is also provided.
- Although the duration is 4 years some might take 5 years to complete it. Also, you cannot opt for distance learning.
- The future aspects are both academic as well as in the corporate sector.
- FPM average package is in the range of INR 3 to 60 LPA
- FPM future prospects are spread across various sectors like Marketing Companies, Sales sector, Educational Institutes, Financial Organizations, Banks, Export Companies, etc.
Overall, FPM is a great choice for those willing to pursue managerial roles or want to enter academia in the future.
How can I get into Delhi School of Economics for an M.A. in sociology?
Admission to MA in Sociology at Delhi School of Economics is based on merit or entrance examination scores. Only those who have completed BA (Hons) in Sociology from Delhi University with an aggregate of around 55%, can apply for merit-based admission.
Others, including students from DU, need to apply under ‘entrance’ if they satisfy the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria is at least 50% marks in graduation.
What is the Menu of mess at Thapar University?
As some of my friends studied at Thapar University, I am very well aware about the college and it’s mess facilities. Here’s sharing some things about the menu I got to know from my friends.
On Mondays:
- Breakfast- Mix veg paratha, Marconi or pasta.
- Lunch: Rajma Rice with Salty Lassi.
- For dinner: Fried Rice, Manchurian and Kulfi.
Tuesday:
- Breakfast- Aloo Paratha or poha.
- Lunch- White channa, petha and green chutney
- Dinner- Matar-paneer, Rice and custard
Wednesday:
- Breakfast- Veg Macroni or onion Paratha.
- Lunch- Tandoori roti with Dal makhni
- Dinner- Moong Dal,nutri and spongy rasgulla.
Thursday:
- Breakfast- Dal paratha/ bread pakora
- Lunch- Aloo-puri and chutney
- Dinner- Bhindi, Dal Makhni and Pastry.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday; you'd find that the breakfast would consist of a type of paratha again with availability of Daliya, poha or pasta at times. On Sunday, Amritsari naan is available at times for lunch and in dinner you might get an ice-cream, a chocolate or a gulab Jamun with the combination of Aloo-puri or paneer bhurji or palak-corn.
What is the rank of CUSAT in India?
Firstly, you should clearly know that CUSAT ranks in the Top 100 Universities in India. In 2017, it ranked #36 and from then in 2021 it has climbed down to #62. Nevertheless, it is still a good university because of the number of published research works and a few of its excellent departments.
Since a university is judged on different parameters of academic excellence, faculty, facilities, tuition costs, etc; it'll be unjust on highlighting it solely on the basis of its rank. The courses it offers must be judged on the same parameters. So here are some highlights-
- The engineering department is distributed in two campuses- the first is in SOE in Kochi and the CUCEK, which is known as the second campus is in Alleppey.
- Within these, some of the branches like Naval Architecture, Fire and Safety, Information Technology, and Computer Science are highly competitive and get good placements with names like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Cisco, etc.

So as you see, 595 students have placed last year and the CUSAT placement officer Jacob Elias informed that more than students have been offered more than 17 LPA in 2020 and this year some have been placed with an amount of over INR 44 LPA.
What is the average package in NIT Raipur for Mechanical engineering??
As far as the placement reports say, placement for mechanical engineering in NIT Raipur varies in between 70%-80%. Although the placements are not as high as IT/CSE branch when compared with mechanical engineering. But yes, there is a most essential perk of job security in the mechanical engineering branch which most of today’s software companies and startups lack.
Now moving from core to non-core campus visitors in the fields of Software & Analytics for all the branches, the package offered is usually very low around 3.5–5 LPA.
- The automobile companies like Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Tata Motors, and Fiatwhich visit NIT Raipur for campus placements all give packages more or less between 5.5–6 LPA.
- Vedanta Resources do provide a better package than automobiles but their package includes a large amount of variable pay which depends on individual as well as company performance.
- So in the long run they are paid more or less the same as automobile placed people get.
- PSUs like Coal India Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) which visit NIT Raipur are among those few ones who actually increase the average by providing a very good pay scale of 10–12 LPA.
Some companies like BPCL AND HPCL have strict rules of allowing only topper of some branches to appear for the placements. Whereas Coal India does not have vacancies for mechanical every year.
Though, the job openings for Mechanical Engineers are always there. This is a reason why Mechanical is called an evergreen branch. Moreover, placements everywhere on the country’s economic situation.
Don't go for placement packages, it may disappoint you. Just keep a good CPI and be conceptually strong, you will surely end up in good companies like Tata and Maruti.
How is IIT Bhubaneswar for an MTech along with GATE preparation?
The IIT Bhubaneswar is indeed a preferable choice for Mtech along with GATE preparation. One of my friends did the same and got selected in ISRO, BARC, and NPCIL. Though, full-time preparation will not be possible as time has to be given for Mtech too. Most of the faculties are very supportive of job-seeking students, though not all.
- The best time for preparation is during the weekend when the classes are off. You can also spend a few hours daily on weekdays for the preparation after the classes.
- There is also an ample amount of free time available after the completion of each semester.
- The most inspiring aspect of pursuing Mtech along with GATE preparation is the syllabus of MTech. It covers a lot of topics such as advanced thermodynamics, advanced heat transfer, etc which are helpful for the preparation of GATE.
- Various of my friend's classmates also got selected in various organizations such as IES, IOCL, BARC, ISRO, OPSC, ONGC, BPCL, etc. The students who failed to get selected through GATE got placed through IIT BBS placement.
So, if you are thinking of preparing for GATE, along with your MTech, you should definitely go for IIT Bhubaneswar.
How is the PGDM executive (fulltime) course of IMT Ghaziabad? How are the placements? How is it compared to IIM Shillong and SPJAIN PGPM?
An executive course is a one-year MBA degree for working professionals, whereas a full-time PGDM is for two regular years, like all other MBA degrees. The executive course at IMT Ghaziabad is quite good. They have concise and to-the-point courses and complete almost the whole two-year program in one year. Placements for executive students may not be as many, as most of them are already working, but they do help in placements for other students.
If you choose to pursue a correspondence course, it does not matter as much where you pursue it.
IIM Shillong, being an IIM, has its own prestige. But when compared to all B-schools Rankings, IMT Ghaziabad is definitely higher up the charts than IIM Shillong or SPJAIN PGDM. If given the option, it would be better to choose IMT Ghaziabad or IIM Shillong over SPJAIN PGDM. If you are looking for a campus experience, Ghaziabad would be a better personal preference.
Is project management course in Nicmar Pune worth?
The Project management course is a total worth at NICMAR. The placements for the course have been good so far. The only thing to keep in mind is that if you are committed to your studies and with this determination, you will get a good placement for sure.
The only thing you should keep in the mind is to get knowledge and that will only help in getting a placement. Your performance also plays an important role during placements. The course will really be beneficial from a career point of view as well.
