Why is it so common to prefer AIIMS Jodhpur over AIIMS Rishikesh in UG counseling?
Both AIIMS Jodhpur and AIIMS Rishikesh have been established in the same year and thus their academics, infrastructure and facilities are somewhat similar. Yet, many people prefer AIIMS Jodhpur to Rishikesh due to the following reasons.
- The academics at AIIMS Jodhpur are a notch better than AIIMS Rishikesh. One of the major highlights is the UNconvential Learning Experience (UNCLE) and Integrated Classrooms wherein many departments give clinical insight together.
- AIIMS Jodhpur has a more challenging exam pattern. The breakdown is MCQs of 25% of total marks and subjective questions of 75% of total marks. This pattern is followed in all end-semester and professional examinations.
- The city life provided by Jodhpur is another reason why people prefer it to Rishikesh which is just a tourist place. Connectivity-wise also, Jodhpur is better.
So many may not agree on the differences between the 2 institutes but the higher AIIMS Jodhpur cutoff than AIIMS Rishikesh proves the point.
Will I regret it in the future if I choose IMT over VGSoM IIT-KGP, if I am looking for a marketing consultant role in the future and am not interested in sales?
You need to know that you will essentially ‘regret’ your choices only if your career growth is lower than your aspirations. Not many can comment on this since it essentially involves the future.
Now, if you are talking about specialization in marketing, you should choose IMT Ghaziabad over IIT Kharagpur VGSOM. This is because there are better career and placement opportunities at IMT Ghaziabad. The college is also well known for its established base in marketing and it has good opportunities for students in all areas of it.
Following are the placement statistics for IMT Ghaziabad:
| Particulars | IMT Ghaziabad Placement 2021 |
| Highest Salary | 38 LPA |
| Average Salary Range | 10-15 LPA |
| Top Marketing Recruiters | Apollo Tyres and Whirlpool |
VGSOM is an engineering college and has a bias towards it even when it comes to MBA. So if you are looking for placements in Operations, IT, or Analytics, you will find good opportunities in this along with consulting options in the same at VGSOM.
How should I study for the GATE from now if I want to get into IIT, Patna?
If you want to study for GATE to join IIT Patna, you can start by joining the test series. Made Easy provides a very good test series in addition to the ACE test series. Other tips to follow are
- Give a minimum of 2-3 tests in a single day and revise your concepts daily. Giving tests will teach you how to handle pressure, time management, strategy, etc.
- Give equal importance to every subject and do not focus on one subject only. Revise every subject alternatively.
- Make sticky notes and jot down your weak topics to revise them more frequently.
Follow the above points sincerely and you are good to go.
What would be better: EC in SGSITS or CSE in IET DAVV?
If you are comparing Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science, and The Institute of Engineering & Technology, DAVV, then go for the former. IET DAVV has its own reputation but not better than SGSITS.
Here is the comparison between SGSITS and IET DAVV.
- Faculty: The educational qualification of SGSITS professors are PhD holders from, old IITs and IISC. And only a few IET DAVV professors have PhDs from IIT and IISC.
- Placement: SGSITS is one of the oldest colleges and thus has a good placement record. Its Alumni are also wider and good. That is why every department of students of SGSITS got placed including CSE and EC. Companies such as Adani, Aditya Birla, Adobe, Asian Paints, Axis Bank, Deloitte, etc come for campus placement. On the other hand, IET DAVV also has decent placement. IET DAVV mostly has software companies as a recruiter. But its placement record is not better than SGSITS.
- Campus and Student Life: IET DAVV has good campus and student life. It has a good cultural fest. While SGSITS has good technical fests.
- Reputation and brand value: The reputation of SGSITS is better than IET DAVV and gives more brand value in a long run. IET DAVV is popular only in MP but SGSITS has a nationwide reputation.
Therefore, if you thinking to join SGSITS and IET DAVV, then choose EC from SGSITS. It has good faculty, placement record, and greater brand value which will help you in your career.
IIT Delhi Mtech Computer Technology vs IIT Hyderabad Mtech CSE. Which is better for placements in product based software companies?
Both IIT Delhi MTech Computer Technology and IIT Hyderabad Mtech CSE are excellent engineering programs. However, my personal suggestion is IIT Delhi Ctech. Here’s why
- IIT Delhi offers the best opportunities considering its rank in the top 3 IITs
- IIT Delhi holds the Institute of Eminence Status
- The brand value of IIT Delhi is much higher than the new IIT Hyderabad.
- IIT Delhi being old has a very beautiful campus with great natural beauty. IIT Hyderabad on the other hand has a newly established campu that is still under construction.
- A few major companies don’t visit new IITs like IIT Hyderabad. IIT Delhi, on the other hand, is visited by top IT companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Microsoft, Ola, Uber, Tower Research, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, Intel, Qualcomm, Samsung, etc
The only disadvantage you might face at IIT Delhi Is the intense competition with CS students as they are all top rankers.
I don’t mean to demean IIT Hyderabad but it’s a fact that the opportunities and exposure that IIT Delhi will offer cannot be compared to IIT Hyderabad.
How is the girl's hostel at PGIMS Rohtak?
The kind of hostel you are allotted at PGIMS Rohtak depends on the course you opt for. MBBS students are usually allotted 3 hostels depending on the year of their course. Usually, first-year MBBS girls are allotted the Yamuna Hostel which is located near the OPD, while second-year MBBS students are allotted Krishna Hostel which comes under MDU and PGI and lastly, the 3rd year, students are transferred to the Ganga Hostel near the auditorium. Let's look at the hostel facilities of each of these hostels individually
- Yamuna Hostel: This is the most decent hostel that serves amazing food. The first and second-floor bathrooms are cleaned regularly. You will find the warden to be a little strict so if you have brought electric kettles and iron, keep them hidden.
- Krishna Hostel: This hostel has spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, and average food. The biggest drawback is the distance from college so you will have to arrange a convenience of your own although a bus picks up and drops students too.
- Ganga Hostel: This is the worst hostel almost in ruins. The facilities are pathetic.
Hope my answer clears all your doubts.
