What are the best things for Bharathiar University students to do on weekends?
As your academic schedule will be restricted to weekdays only, you will have enough time to explore several things.

Should I go for NSIT IT or IIT Jammu Mechanical?
No matter what anyone says, one cannot underestimate the value an IIT tag holds in shaping your career and opening doors of opportunities you did not know existed. You will have a certain confidence over non-IITians and you will thus strive everywhere you go. Moreover, the quality and number of recruiters an IIT attracts is unmatched.
IT at NSUT Delhi won't do you much good because CSE has overtaken IT and is no longer the most coveted branch. The mechanical branch however still has its charm and will continue to do so in the future. So it's not advisable to join a branch that is losing its charm gradually. Here are some additional points to consider
- The campus facilities are also better at IIT obviously because it's a government college.
- Students have access to the internet 24/7 which is not possible in NSUT Delhi.
- IIT Jammu has amazing sports facilities like a cricket net, football ground, badminton courts, basketball court, table tennis room, volleyball court, chess, and carrom. There is also a TV room with all HD channels, for recreation.
- Students are offered laundry services too.
- Several cultural and technical clubs like drama, dance, literature, art, music, coding, robotics, etc. promote extracurricular activities largely.
The above points might have convinced you to choose IIT Jammu over NSIT.
How many students share a room in IIT Mandi hostels?
IIT Mandi has a variety of different types of hostels, each with their own occupancy and room arrangements. Generally, students in IIT Mandi's hostels share rooms with one or more other students. The exact number of students per room can vary depending on the campus you are allotted.
IIT Mandi has 2 campuses namely the North Campus and the South Campus.
- The North campus is usually for Btech students
- South Campus is mainly for MSc, Mtech, MBA, PhD students
When my sister was in IIT Mandi, first what students were allotted were triple occupancy rooms for boys and double occupancy rooms for girls. Now, the situation is expected to have improved, and there might be double or triple for boys and single for girls.
Usually, the south campus has multiple seater rooms while the North campus has single rooms. Additionally, Ph.D. students are allotted single rooms.
Which is better: CS in BIT Mesra or CS in MANIT Bhopal?
If you compare them in terms of placement, infrastructure, ambiance, and alumni network BIT Mesra has an upper hand over MANIT Bhopal.
Being a 60 years old institute, BIT has an alumni network spread globally at Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon. One of the alumni even won Oscars recently for the best-animated movie.
BIT has great records in ICPC contests. The campus is amazing. Seniors are very helpful. The campus is ragging-free and poses an amazing infrastructure. IET, IEEE, ACM conducts various free workshops to enhance the skills of students.
MANIT Bhopal has an edge over BIT Mesra in terms of tuition fees. NITs are even regarded highly in terms of their brand name. This is the reason why BIT has a higher cutoff compared to NITs.

If you plan for higher studies and if the brand name bothers you, opt NIT Bhopal. Or else BIT Mesra is better in most of the parameters.
Which institute should I join: MICA, IRMA or XIMB?
While choosing between MICA, IRMA, and XIMB, it's important to keep in mind that these institutions are very different from each other. They have different missions, visions, and outcomes. While XIMB is a general management institute, MICA and IRMA are focused on their respective domains.

How are the hostels like at NIT Calicut? Is there a single occupancy for M.Tech students?
NIT Calicut offers decent hostel accommodations. The rooms are double or triple sharing. The institute offers basic amenities such as beds, cupboards, and tables. Hostel rooms have adequate lighting and ventilation. Bathrooms are shared by several rooms. Rooms and washrooms are cleaned regularly. The mess facilities are good. They offer a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.
M.Tech students aren’t offered single occupancy rooms, by NIT Calicut.
How should I prepare for NITIE Mumbai through CAT?
As some of my friends studied at NITE Mumbai, there are certain facts you should know before starting the preparations.
- In NITIE Mumbai, for the course of PGDIM, the students with engineering backgrounds are only taken into consideration.
- After the shortlisting is completed and a student is called for the GD and PI.
- The score of CAT is not taken into account and the whole admission process takes place on the campus.
- Now, for the final merit list, it's the scores of GD and PI, on which a student's admission is dependent.
- For the GD round, it can be based on topics like IRP and for the PI round, the professors can ask questions based on the graduation.
- Also, current affairs are very important for the PI as what's happening around the globe is something everyone should be aware of.
The questions in PI can be of puzzle form or from subjects like linear programming. Grab some of the weaknesses and strengths and effectively explain them.
GIM or TAPMI: Which one is better for marketing and why?
GIM is definitely better for Marketing specialization due to factors like location, small batch size, and past records.

Is attendance compulsory at the KJ Somaiya College of Engineering? What is the regular class timing?
No, there are not any strict rules regarding attendance and it is not compulsory at KJ Somaiya College of Engineering. But if you bunk or miss any practical or tutorial, you will have to attend the extra classes on Saturday to cover it up.
The regular class timing of this college is from 9:30 AM to 5:15 PM, but sometimes the classes begin at around 10:30 AM and they end in between 3-4 PM. The rule regarding attendance varies from department to department, but try to maintain at least 75% attendance in your first year to avoid any trouble.
