Which college is better for CS engineering PSIT Kanpur or Babu Banarsi Das Lucknow?

YS
Yashvi Singh Posted On : July 5th, 2021
Studied Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering at Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology

As far as these two colleges are concerned, both are equally good in their respective locations. Lucknow is known as the capital city which will come with its own set of benefits. But, if you want to directly compare, my vote would go for PSIT Kanpur as it is especially good for computer science engineering.

Moreover, PSIT is also a private college. This will have its benefits including better placements for CS and other branches as well as compared to other institutes that are not based on NCRs. PSIT has also become one of the fastest-growing institutes in North India.

PSIT is also known for its discipline, faculty, and facilities which, are the best here as compared to BBD. However, BBD is less strict than PSIT so you can expect a little more personal growth at this college than the other one.

Finally, it all boils down to what you like. You can also choose the college which is nearer to you.

What is it like to attend Manipal Institute Of Technology?

MG
Monica Govind Posted On : September 9th, 2023
M.Tech Industrial Automation and Robotics, Manipal Institute Of Technology (2019)

Everyone has a different yet amazing experience of attending Manipal Institute of Technology. This answer is based on my friend’s experience who recently completed her graduation from the institute. She claimed that the best part of the institute is that it gives you enough freedom to identify yourself and explore your passions. Here are a few highlights of her experience at MIT Manipal

  • She loved staying in her room because the hostel facilities are great and makes occasional trips to beaches too.
  • She gained some amazing experiences that helped groom her personality as a whole.
  • The faculty pool varies from branch to branch but you will find a few good teachers everywhere.
  • The students are expected to have a sense of self-responsibility towards their academics since they have a lot of freedom.
  • The institute has a dedicated club culture with many technical and non-technical clubs catering to all interests.
  • The institute has resources for almost everything from sports to placements.
  • The hostel facilities are at another level with AC rooms. The students have access to high-speed Internet.
  • You need to choose your company wisely as many are involved in drugs and alcohol.
  • The academic workload is average and studying 3-4 days prior to the unit tests and 1–2 weeks before the end semesters is more than enough.
  • Students need to maintain a minimum of 75 % attendance.
  • Saturdays and Sundays are off and weekly three classes per subject.
  • The number of lab sessions weekly depends on your branch and the semester. If you don’t have a lab, then you will have a half day.
  • The time slots are 8–10, 10:30 to 12:30 classes then 2–5 labs, or 8:30 - 11:30 lab then 1–3 pm 3:30–5:30 pm classes.

Hope you have an enriching experience at MIT Manipal too!

How is the faculty at the IIT Delhi compared to that of the IIT Bombay?

DS
Darshan Sethi Posted On : October 7th, 2023
Lives in Delhi

I have friends in both institutes and from what I have heard, the IIIT Delhi faculty is quite arrogant and has no interest in teaching. The professors at IIT Delhi were very approachable during internships and expressed their willingness to work with the students and help them find their thought processes. On the other hand, IIIT Delhi professors would mock you if you were unable to answer a particular question.

A friend shared an incident at IIT Delhi when one of the professors committed an unintentional mistake and retook his interview to apologize. Your Ph.D. depends a lot on the kind of professors you work under and I will never recommend you to do a Ph.D. under such arrogant professors

Is studying CSE in MNNIT, Allahabad through the DASA scheme worth it?

NY
Nisha Yadav Posted On : April 30th, 2021
MNNIT (2016)

When computer science was first introduced in India as a course to pursue, it was launched in only two colleges namely, IIT (Kharagpur or Kanpur) and MNNIT Allahabad.

It was a five years course in the former while in the latter it was a four-year course.  Therefore it can be said that the first batch to launch in the market was from MNNIT Allahabad.

CSE in MNNIT Allahabad is the best branch among all the branches. The reason is stated below:

  • Good placement: In the placement drive 2020, 96.42% of students out of 168 eligible students got placed from the department which stood just after the IT department. The average package is the highest from the CSE department which is 18.02 lakhs per annum. The highest CTC offered was 39.002 lakhs which is the same as the ECE department and is the highest among all other departments.
  • The coding culture here is very good.
  • The faculty is quite good and friendly. Also, you will get a competitive peer group.
  • Ragging is not tolerated in the institution.

Hope it helps to get an idea about the CSE branch of the institute.

What are the charges for the hostel and mess at UIT RGPV Bhopal?

AM
Aniket Mishra Posted On : August 20th, 2021
Studied Electronics and Communication Engineering at University Institute of Technology, RGPV (2017)

Hostels facilities at UIT-RGPV are only offered for girls (both UG and PG degrees) and boys (only PG courses) on the RGPV campus with specific income and category restrictions, which is inconvenient. All of the boys from B.E. are day scholars. A bus cost of 7000 per year must be paid.

The college hostel charge is Rs.2400 additionally. Now coming to the mess charges, it varies since they rise every six months, and because RGPV's mess is a private mess, it charges around Rs.1750 per month.
