I’m in my third year, and many companies like Oracle and Bajaj come for internships, which is great because they lead to pre-placement offers. The campus life is vibrant with events like Pragyan and Festember, and the hostel facilities are top-notch. Definitely a good choice if you want a solid education and fun!

So, after completing my first semester at NIT Trichy, I feel ready to share my thoughts on this!

1. Environment and Atmosphere: If you’re not from the South, don’t worry! It’s not as different as you might think. You’ll spend four years here just fine.

• Seasons: You’ll miss winter, so pack some winter clothes. Expect only summer and rainy seasons.

2. Language Barrier: You might face some challenges if you don’t know English, but it’s manageable.

• If you can speak English, you’ll be fine. Some locals may not know Hindi, which could make communication tricky.
• However, many Tamil speakers can understand Hindi.
• About 80 to 90 percent of people can grasp Hindi to some extent.
• It’s important to note: English is just a language; it doesn’t define your knowledge. If you’re not fluent now, you can improve over time.

3. Academic Pressure: The academic workload can be quite intense, even compared to some IITs.

The placement scene is strong, with an average of 90% and my branch hitting 100%. Big names like Google and Microsoft come here, and I’ve heard of packages going up to 55 lakhs, which is mind-blowing!

That’s one of the most beautiful aspects of NIT Trichy. Before joining, I had mixed ideas about my career—DOCTOR, ENGINEER, DISTRICT COLLECTOR, and so on. But after my first year at NIT Trichy, everything changed.

• The induction process for the college's Coding club, SPIDER R&D, began.
• I learned a lot during this process, and the best part? I genuinely enjoyed it!
• I typed some letters in specific combinations, clicked run, and suddenly, I was creating something new.
• I built a website model as part of my induction task.

The thrill of creating something that never existed before was fascinating! It felt like I had gained a new power. It might sound exaggerated now, but at that moment, when I created my first website, it was truly exhilarating!
