Remarks

Even though the college has great faculties, they aren't using them to their full potential. Add every college in Kerala, our college too is depending on the theoretical curriculum made by KTU. But the organisations like SAE in our college make a difference to it by introducing the students to practical problems.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course is pretty good if you are interested in engineering. You'll have 8 semesters in 4 years. Each semester has 2 internal exams and an end semester University exam. Total marks of a subject is out of 150. Out of this 150, 50 will be from the internals and 100 from university exam. You need to get a minimum 75 to pass the semester and 45 marks out of 100 in University exam.

Placement Experience

3.5

Our college has around 70% placement record in the previous year. Even though it has a large placement record, almost 75% of it is from IT sector. Still, mechanical people are recruited by core companies like MRF, Fleets, Cameron etc.

College Events

4.5

Our college's techno-cultural fest 'hestia' previously known as 'conjura' is considered as the largest techno-cultural fest in South India. We also have other small events like band wars, dance competition etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

If you are a merit student your yearly fee will be around 10k excluding hostel fees. Since the hostel isn't run by the govt. It costs around 4k per month including food. If you are a management student, a seat in mechanical engineering will cost around 10 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

Students from backward category are offered with a merit cum means scholarship of around 15k. Students belonging to very weak economic sections are helped financially by the college alumni association.

Campus Life

5

The college has a team for football, cricket, ches and badminton. The college ground is open to anyone from 4 in the evening. There are 2 badminton courts in the college. The college music club is really good and has been invited to play in clubs.

Alumni/Alumna

The college almuni network is really active. They organise internships for the students as well as train them to survive the actual job market. They even help the economically weak students through scholarships.

Admission

You have to attend the Kerala Engineering and Medical entrance exam. It got 2 paper each for both engineering and Medical streams. Engineering has a paper for both physics and chemistry and another for maths. The mark obtained from entrance exam is combined with your PCM marks in +2 and a rank list is made. This rank list is used for the admission process of all engineering colleges in Kerala.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty in my college is really great. Almost every professor in mechanical department are alumnus of IITs. They are easy to deal with and are ready to clear your any doubt. The faculties are always there if you need any help academically or financially.

Upon reaching s7 students are invited for campus placement but they have to pass different criteria to become eligible for attending the interview, a minimum cgpa of 7.5 and academic skills a these are the basic requirements and an aptitude test will be given and in further selection these criteria are looked. I plan on pursuing a job after completing by btech. More than half the students in a batch are getting placed usually.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is excellent because it contains so many informative ideas and the practical lab is the best. I chose this course to get an idea about the civil engineering field and i m satisfied with it. The faculty members are very supportive and helpful. The student ratio is very low. Faculties at our college are MTech holders and PHD also. There will be two series exams and one university exam in each semester and there are eight semesters in Btech.
