Remarks

The location of college is not very good and is under construction. Only seven ug branches are offered. Educational infrastructure is not very good. Sports facility is also not very good. Food qwality is very good.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is very flexible with a very good focus on research. Each semester two quizzes and one end-sem exam is conducted. Labs are very frequent. The overall day is not very hectic and get a lot of time for other activities.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements and job opportunities are very good. Big companies like google, amazon, microsoft, samsung etc recruited. There has been 50 percent increase in package from last year. College also provides internship opportunities.

College Events

All the festivals are celebrated in college. Holi, deewali, dussehra, ganesh chaturthi, eid, etc all the festivals are celebrated joyfully. Regular fests are organised. Lit fest, tech fest, ciltural fest and sports fest are organised every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is expensive. The tution fee is 1 lakh per semester for UG. other fees add up to Rs 40000 per semester. But fee waiver are also offered on tution fees. Those whose family income is below 1lakh per annum gets 100 percent waiver on tution fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

Those whose income is below 1lakh per annum gets 100 percent fee waiver on tution fees. Those whose income is below 5 lakh per annum gets 66 percent fee waiver on tution fees. Besides there is Merit cum Means scholarship.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio is 3:1 in favour of males. Workshop are regularly organized. There are many cultural and technical societies like programming club robotronics club drama music and dance club etc. Sports is optional.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I have opted for hostel. Hostel infrastructure is very good. I think this is the best hostel infrastructure you will get in any govt. college. Hostel rooms are very spacious.100 students live in a hostel. Hostel rooms are single double and triple bed rooms.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not very strong yet. But seniors are very helpful. Alumnis too are very helpful. Seniors regularly organise session on different topics. Alumnis connect regulary with the students of the college

Admission

I got admission through JEE Advanced examination. After qualifying the exam I appered in JOSAA counseling and got the college. Admission process was completely online. I opted for cse branch as its placement record is very good.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty are very good and teaches very well. Faculties are on time and very friendly. Most of the faculties are young with a few very old faculties. Most of them are assistant professor. They mostly depend on slide presentation for teaching.

If you have strong academics

Likes

Infrastructure and quality of education and supportive professor for building our success career
Very supportive atmosphere for growth in any engineer branch
Very good approach towards creativity innovations and practical projects

Dislikes

Lack of auditoriium so most of gathering will be in open air theatre

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities at my college are average. A few reputed companies visit the campus each year, but the number of offers and salary packages varies depending on the branch and market conditions. Students who have strong academic performance, technical skills, internships, and good communication skills generally have better chances of getting placed.

Likes

The campus really respects diversity. Students from different states and countries study together and that inclusion makes a big difference
The infrastructure and fab faculties are unmatched, for people dedicated to carrying out research, they have almost everything atvtheir disposal
Extra curricular activities make sure one is involved in multiple volunteery things rather than just academics

Dislikes

Relevant placement opportunities with good packages can be improved
The fee for courses could be regularised
Mode of exam conduction should be completely offline to ensure transparency

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in last semester. They can choose to sit in placements and select if they would like to join the company theyve been selected for. Eligible candidates do end up getting great packages

Very less internship and placement option

Course Curriculum Overview:

Updated to align with NEP-2020 guidelines starting from 2023 onward. CSE (AI & DS) branch includes modern subjects like Data Science, Machine Learning, Python, Cloud basics. Core branches (ECE, ME, EE, CE) follow standard Indian engineering frameworks with essential subjects. Syllabus similar to other govt engineering colleges under HP Tech University, so fairly up to date.

I like the sporta event that takes place

Dislikes

I dont like the quality of food that is provided in the mess
Also the room size is relatively small
I also dont like the fact the online food delivery is limited to campus gate

I think that the course curriculum in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness is good after first year. But in the first year a student has to study the basic subjects of all the branchs which is not needed

very good wifi facility in the campus. And good gender ratio in institute

Dislikes

Climate is hot during summer. But winters are appreciable
Mess food is not good that much.. but we can eat.
Sometimes in hostel there is non availability of water . In bathrooms

I chose this course because it has more scope in India as India is a developing country. It also has government jobs more than other fields. We can shift to it sector this is the flexibility of this course.

IIT Mandi- my home and karmbhoomi

Honestly I initially thought of branch change and college in some what cold place which led me to this college. Our college is moderate in comparison to other iits, obviously you cant compare it with old iits , but yeah its decent enough, having good students and friends. Placement of four college is better than other iits. Some years result in placement ogf good no. of students whereas some leads to okish. The sport facilities are ok. Swimming pool is not of olympic size and it requires lot of time for repair of the sport equipments. Admission process is through Jossa counselling after JEE Advanced. I applied for VIT, NIT BHOPAL, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Jammu, IIT BHU, IIT Ropar, NIT Durgapur, and many of the IITS and NITS. I choose only this so, didn't fill for confirmation for others. No I hadn't got rejection. Eligibility of my college is JEE Advanced cutoff abnd min 75 % in 12th....Read More

IIT Mandi

Because I am from Himachal, IIT Mandi was one of my top choices, and there was a certain optimistic feeling that drew me in after seeing the campus. The college is the IIT family's newest member. According to the new IIT, the college's placement record is excellent, and the staff is well-known for its innovative teaching methods. IIT Mandi offered a fantastic M.Tech in Power Electronics and Drives programme, which was just what I was looking for. To be accepted into the college, an applicant must pass the GATE exam and earn at least 60% in the B.Tech programme. After passing the GATE, the candidate must attend COAP counselling....Read More
