Good college for B.Ed in Darjeeling

Educational loan facility is available from both the private sector bank as well as the public sector bank for which one has to submit the admission letter of the college.

The course curriculum is designed well in line with the demands of a B.Ed course. Holistic coverage of teaching pedagogy and practical skills of making the learning easy for students are covered in the curriculum. Exams are held in a semester-wise manner with a 2-semester examination in one year of a program. theory and practical evaluation are done as a part of the end semester examinations. In between the semester examination, mid-term evaluations are done through assignments and practical examinations.

The placement rate of the college is not that much good. most of the students sit for the government teacher examination in the final year of the program. However one can get good placement in private schools as well for which the college provides assistance. The placement cell of the college helps students in this regard.

The fee of the college is a bit on the higher side. For a 2-year B.Ed program, one has to pay around 2 to 3 lacs. It is a private college this many fees can be expected from it. Other colleges in the region have also similar fee structures. To manage the hefty fee one can apply for an educational loan or can look for scholarship opportunities. The fee is however in line with the fee for the program in other private colleges.

the West Bengal State Government offers scholarships to meritorious students as well as students from the reserved categories. One can apply for this scholarship based on the fulfillment of all eligibility criteria. In case you don't get a scholarship under the state government scheme one can apply for the national government scholarship scheme.

Extracurricular activities are held seldom in our college. Teaching workshops are conducted apart from that event like the fresher's party, farewell, sports meet, etc are conducted. Infrastructure wise the college is good. Classrooms are well equipped with e-Learning solutions and it makes it easier for us to grasp things. Labs are also well maintained.

I wanted to pursue my career in teaching so I update this course after my graduation. I said for the exam conducted that by the West Bengal University. On qualifying for the entrance exam I got to this college through counseling. I applied for the B.Ed course in the college and completed all the formalities to get admission. As of now, our college has a 100 seat intake for the B.Ed course. Admissions are done through the entrance examination only.

The faculty of our college is experienced. The emphasis of the faculty is on making us learn the core of the teaching pedagogy. They lay emphasis on imparting us the knowledge about how things can be made easier for the learner and not forcing things on them. is one of the most important things to learn if you are going to pursue a career in teaching. Teachers are also very helpful in providing us guidance post the class time. Overall I can say that the teaching staff is very good.
