Government Law College Thiruvananthapuram is one among the first Law colleges in kerala, rich with famous alumni all around the world which includes a major portion of legal executives, politicians, judges, and advocates in kerala. The college has the best library with biggest collection of law books in the country.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our course syllabus and curriculum is set and revised by the University of Kerala by consulting with BAR Council of India which holds the duty to maintain legal education standards in india. Our college hosts the most famous Justice VR Krishna iyyer memorial Moot court, and also has a wide alumni comprising of famous law firms which provide internships. Our Principal Dr. Biju kumar, professor NL Saji kumar

College Events

The campus life is not as much as good as expected. The academics part serves well where as the extracurricular activities are not at all entertained and funded by the government. The college also has student politics which ruins the unity among the students and brings in regular clashes between the students.

Campus Life

Our campus is 5 acres in area located at the heart of the trivandrum city. Includes Hostel block which was inaugurated by the then president of india fakrudhin ali ahammed in 1975. That hostel block is currently used for accommodation of female students. Male students are accommodated in the Law College block of the Kerala University mens hostel.

First Law College in Kerala

Course Curriculum Overview:

Exams are not conducted timely. There is a big delay in exam conducting. Also, there is some delay due to the widespread of covid 19. Exams are easy to pass if we study well. There are so many books in the library which help us to prepare for the exams.

Admission:

Actually I don't have an intent to join the law course, but with family members aspect I joined the 5 years LLB course. I did attended the Entrance exam and cleared it with good marks so that I got government law college nearer to my native itself.

Admission:

Like every student I wrote the entrance exam to get a seat from 50 seats allocated in government college. Because of my hard work I got this seat in college along with my school friends. There won't be any donation and interview process, the allotment card is the key to enter into the college.

Admission:

I passed my 12th exam with good marks and appeared the entrance exam AILET. After the results of the exam was published, I got shortlisted to take admission in the college. Moreover, my 12th marks also were par the criteria set by the college in addition to the entrance score. Finally I got the admission here.

It is the only government law college in kerala that provides BA LLB course. Other government colleges only provides BBA LLB AND BCOM LLB. I was interested in BA LLB. Good aspects : well trained teachers a very informative and huge library helping office staffs. Bad Aspects : no ground for sports student political party system ( often fights occur between two different party members) No moot club no participation in moots and trail advocacy no encouragement for extra curricular activities. college doesn't provide for funds for arts festivals I chose this college because of its reputation, Well trained teachers and the certificate we get from this college is so worthy to apply for jobs etc...Read More
